Jennifer Lopez Tutorial

Okay, okay I'm listening! = )You asked for more Jennifer and here she is! Lopez really lights up the (whatever color) carpet with this look. Her makeup artist is very in tune with what looks flawless on her skin. The hint of purple in the crease compliments her eyes and the soft orange right above that compliments her skin. She couples the same orange on her cheek and a hint of it in her lips as well. If you want to know how to get this look click the video below!

Just in time!!

Ladies, here is Codi, a fellow makeup artist and dear friend to teach us more about our eyes and the skin surrounding. I love her and I know you do too. So here she is, take it away Code...

When it comes to the eye area, it surprises me that such a small area of the face can hold so many problems for so many women. Whether it's fine lines, deep wrinkles, crow's feet, dark circles, or puffiness.... it seems like the eye area is a small, yet major, pain in the 'keester' for many women.

That is why I am so overjoyed with the latest product from Lancome, and I know you will be too!!
Introducing......
Lancome Renergie Eye Multiple Action Ultimate Eye Care Duo
It is an eye cream and veil in one convenient gorgeous package!! *There's even a mirror in the flip top of the veil.* It's an eye care duo that combines 2 treatments for 6 visible anti-aging actions!

Skin truth
Youthful-looking eyes are the key to a youthful-looking face. The eye area is the most delicate part of the face, so it is the first area to show the signs of aging.

Lancome innovation
Eye care at its peak. Lancome introduces its ultimate eye care system, Renergie Eye Multiple Action, a unique combination of two treatments for six visible anti-aging actions.

  • eyelids are visibly lifted
  • the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is virtually erased
  • the eye contour looks firmer
  • under-eye bags are visibly deflated
  • dark circles appear faded
  • the eye contour looks illuminated
The eye area is visibly revitalized. In just 4 weeks, the whole face looks up to 5 years younger.

Each client that I have shown this new product to has been blown away by the results she has seen with just one application and has snatched this product up without hesitation. I, myself, could hardly believe the difference that it immediately made with some of my clients. Not only does it look amazing but the feel of both products is so light, and so soft. Now to be clear... the veil is not a concealer. It contains Sea Pine Bark Extract, a wonderful antioxidant, to help with puffiness and light-reflecting pigments to help illuminate and brighten the eye.

You apply the cream:
1. Under the eye
2. To the upper eyelid
3. Above the eyebrow
4. And along the crow's feet and temple
All these areas, both day and night.

You lightly apply the veil with your ring finger:
1. To the inner corner of the eye
2. On dark circles
3. And under the outer arch of the eyebrow
All these areas, only in the day after the cream. Then follow with foundation (and concealer if you wish).
The veil comes in Light, Medium, and Dark and the price is $75.00. I know, I know, some of you are thinking this is a little pricey... but I guarantee you it's worth every penny, and a little goes a long way! Also, to make it even better.....

THIS SUNDAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF FREE GIFT TIME!!!!
With any purchase of $32.50 or more you get the free gift! You get to choose which color of bag you would like (blue, green, or pink) and then you get to choose 6 out of 12 free items. There are skin care products (the genefique is an amazing serum), makeup, a bronzer, and the amazing Bifacil eye makeup remover.
This really is an amazing chance to try a remarkable product that will eliminate many eye woes, and get some other fabulous free stuff at the same time!

Happy eye area to all!!!

Don't Fret, Oprah Loves You Too =)

So Urban Decay is SO stoked about getting an award from Oprah's magazine...wouldn't YOU??? I bet Oprah would like me too if I'd met her...well I have met her and let me just say she did give me pretty profound advise but alas, no award = /. These glide on pencils are pretty great and well worth trying out. They are waterproof and can be used as liners OR shadows!!! Two in one always makes me smile (insert smile here). After using the primer potion and having Urban Decay "promise" me (via the packaging) that it wouldn't crease I am a BeLiEvEr so when they tell me this won't crease either...well you get the idea. Also for those of you that have been waaaaaaiiiiiiitiiiiiing the Naked Palette is BACK IN STOCK (click here)!!!!!! Get on your computer before they are GONE!!!!!

Beauty Review: Be Your Own Beauty Editor With Loose Button!

Imagine that you could test out luxury brands without making a commitment to buy at full price. Imagine that the products would magically appear at your door-step. Imagine cutting down on wasted products and only buying the ones that work for you.

Stop imagining because the brilliant on-line social shopping brand, Loose Button, is bringing this to all beauty consumers! What is Loose Button? Loose Button gives beauty lovers the opportunity to try out deluxe size samples from a variety of brands, sent to you in a chic box with free shipping all for a monthly fee of $9.95 CAD (right now the program is invite-only and you only pay a one time fee for your first luxe box).

The samples are deluxe or travel size and have enough product to thoroughly test for at least a month. You also receive about 4 items per order and each box is a surprise! The products are chosen by real beauty editors so you know the items you will be receiving are the best.

This is the lovely box I received the products in - cute isn't it? I was ecstatic to open this pretty little present and couldn't wait to see what was inside.

The presentation of the box is very impressive. When you first open the box, a card with product information is included along with a message from Loose Button. It's a nice touch especially if you are not familiar with the products.

My box included:
  • Ahava Mineral Hand Cream ($20)
  • Benefit Moon Beam ($24)
  • Balmshell Lip Gloss ($22)
  • myfaceworks I Need To Replenish Mask ($60)
  • Cellnique Total Day Time Protection 30 ($50)
Call me spoiled, but I was a bit underwhelmed by what was in the box because I had tried both the Benefit and Balmshell products - not to say I don't love these products but it's always nice to try something new. However, being a hand cream junkie I was really happy to try the Ahava hand cream  and the myfaceworks hydrating mask, similar to SKII's. I receive so many products almost on a daily basis to test, but for someone that doesn't you would be overjoyed to receive these products, no?

Would I pay for this convenient service? No. I think the price is reasonable and according to some market research done by Loose Button many of you said you would pay up to $15 if there were more samples in the box, more luxury brands, and you were able to customize the box according to your needs. I'm lucky enough to receive products all the time so this service wouldn't benefit me. However, if you are a regular beauty consumer who doesn't have the same opportunity I would definitely recommend this service.

Women spend so much on beauty products every month. Beauty counters don't always give you samples especially deluxe sizes. With the Loose Button service you will save money and cut down on consumer waste. I mean, how many of you have products laying around that you don't use or end up giving away? Another great aspect is that you won't have to deal with that pushy sales person. You can test the products in the convenience of your own home and make a clear decision on whether it works for you or not.

My only other issue was not being able to choose the products. According to their research, most of you prefer an expert picking out beauty products that suit you. It is helpful if you are not familiar with the product and don't know how to use it, but for those that do know what works I think there should be an option to choose your own.

Overall, I think it's a great service for you beauty lovers that love testing and trying new products. I really think the presentation and customer service is wonderful. It's also a terrific way to treat yourself every month - because you deserve it!

BFTE Swatches

I really need to come up with a filing system for all my BFTE posts lol. Anyway.. here are my newest additions, minus one; I forgot to include my new Pyxis highlighter sample in the picture! (It was in my bathroom because I used it yesterday.) I'll just do another post soon with my BFTE face products. :)
Please ignore the weird dark shadow on the outer left edge of Wacky, that was the camera's fault. >.<
I ordered 3 eyeshadows: Emerald City which I chose as my prize for my latest BFTE 365 look, Guipure the CotW, and Wacky which I nominated for CotW but didn't win. :( I've had my eye on this one for a while so I had to get it anyway. I also got a free sample baggie of Bubbly which I LOVE! Here they all are, photographed in different lighting situations. (I didn't photograph Guipure since I'd already taken pics of my free sample a while back. I'll include a link at the end if you'd like to see them.)
Indoor natural light.
Direct sunlight!
I purposely waited all weekend to swatch these in sunlight, since the weather's been too cloudy. The colors look so gorgeous in the sun! <3

All swatched with a clean dry brush on bare skin prepped with a little Pond's cream.

Color descriptions:

-Bubbly is kind of hard to decipher; looking at the swatch on the back of my hand right now, it looks like a bright metallic peach-toned gold, so I guess that's the best way to describe it. It's smooth and pigmented with no discernible sparkles, just metallicy goodness! Reminds me a little of Spring Fever, but peachy-orange instead of mauvey-pink. I'll definitely be getting a jar of this one soon.

-Wacky is a medium red orange, not yellow-toned like a lot of BFTE's orange shades. It has very low shimmer, but if you look super close you can sort of see tiny tiny little gold sparkles. They're more visible in photos than to the naked eye, though. When i tilt my hand, there's a sheen to it that looks almost pink, and the color has a bit of a metallic quality to it. All in all, I love this color! It's exactly the red-orange i wanted.

-Emerald City is a light neutral green. I call it "neutral" because even though it doesn't really have any blue in it, it's not really a yellow-toned green. (At least not to me, but then I have a lot of yellow-toned greens! haha) There are small gold sparkles which are very pretty; I'm not usually a huge fan of glittery shades that go all over the place, but this one seems just enough under control that I'll probably use it quite a bit. I'd give it a Sparkle Factor rating of about a 2 out of 3; it does have loose sparkles but they didn't fly up in a cloud when I was swatching. I got the full-size because I had a feeling I'd love it and I was right. ;)

Once again every color is a hit from BFTE, I absolutely love everything. If you haven't tried BFTE, you can check them out at bftecosmetics.com and on their Facebook page. Have a great week! :D
