Mini haul, success and a NICE discovery.

Hi everyone! Today I'm not in such an awful mood because my day today has definitely been much better than last Thursday. Granted it's still not amazing, it's much better.

First of all, today I got up at five in the morning so we could leave to go to the comelec (commission for election) by 6. We got there and already there was a line, maybe 20 people in front of us. We stayed there...assuming that it would start at 8...but the place opened at 9!! By then the whole block and around it had a line. It was awful. But at least we got out of there by 10:30.

By 11 we were at Ever Gotesco Commonwealth, to meet an online seller from whom I'd be getting pure Jojoba and pure Rosehip oil. I read from Catherine's blog that Jojoba oil (which is actually wax ester) really helped her skin, so my mom and I decided to give it a shot. I bought it from a seller on multiply. Click Passion Berries to visit her site. I had a really great experience with her, she was very kind and considerate and really made the transaction pleasant for me. :)

Mmm can't wait to use these babies!!

Anyway, after we bought this stuff we went to go get some necessities in the department store. My mom said she needed a lip brush (retractable) extra to bring along with her, so I was like 'can you please buy me one too?' And she agreed. Yay! I thought I'd be coming home with just a lip brush, but my mom let me get a compact mirror because she was getting annoyed that I kept using the mirror in the car. (LOL) And while we were checking out she remembered she had to get something else sooooo... I snuck in a lipstick. XD She bought it for me, after a bit of "please moooom?" I know I know I'm like..spoiled but I swear I'm not. It's just that I really wanted to get a lipstick to wear for everyday (because I am already halfway through my PAC and my NYX round lipgloss) especially when school begins.

Kinepin mirror! Same brand as the falsies I got. Mm I am really liking the Kinepin brand. Good quality and sturdy and most of all cheap! Also in the picture: Ever Bilena retractable lip brush, and Reveal by Chic lipstick #04.

As you can see in the title of this post I had a fabulous find...and that is the Reveal by Chic lipstick in #04. Reveal seems to be a local brand...I've seen it in a lot of places (department stores, Landmark TriNoma, etc). I wasn't even going to buy this lipstick (I was eyeing Ever Bilena lipstick in Mauvey but it's too light for me) but I was desperate to buy lipstick...and this display was right next to the counter so I just snapped it up.

Let me show you all how it looks like and tell you all about it:

I love the packaging.

The box is cute. Simple and pleasant to the eye. (Also, notice the price. 110php, roughly a little more than $2)

Nice brushed steel look with simple metallic blue print.

Mirror on the lipstick cap. Very convenient!

I love the color.

I love the staying power.
The pictures above show my lips after I have eaten twice..as you can see it is still vibrant (almost the same as when I first applied it). Not just that, I have also licked my lips countless times.

I LOVE the price. Need I say more? (110PHP or a little more than $2)

I love how moisturizing it is.
The text on the box reads: full-cover lipstick with a lustrous finish with Vitamin E to moisturize skin, sunscreen to shield skin against the harmful rays of the sun, silky-rich formula to Reveal naturally blooming, young and healthy lips.

This product really does what it says it will. My lips feel really hydrated! It's like I used a lip butter.

Overall: I am really satisfied with this and I am certainly going to repurchase/buy more in other shades (my mom said herself that she thinks it's great and that we'll buy more whenever we go out--coming from my mom that is GREAT lol). The only thing that saddens me is the fact that there are only 8 shades. But it seems that Reveal is a new brand, I've only seen this brand starting late 2008.

Here are some other things I like about this product:
I like the scent. It smells like chocolate and butter..or chocolate lip butter. LOL. For me a scent that I like is a big deal. Usually I don't like it when things smell like something.
It goes on sheer at first which is perfect for those light makeup days..but is very buildable without feeling heavy on the lips.
No weird taste.

Would I recommend it?
Yes! To those who can get their hands on this brand, try it if you want. In my opinion it is a nice lipstick.

ETA some shades leave your lips stained, be wary.

That's all, ladies, I just wanted to share my happy little discovery. ^^ Thank you for reading!!

10 pan update: Last night I panned 3 things!! :D One blush, two lotions. ^_^

Late post! Mother's Day...row row row your boattt!

Sorry I haven't been around lately girls, I'm sorry if I've missed commenting and/or reading a post or two. I'll make it up to you. My midterms today were fine, I didn't really have to worry so much but since I'm me,  I did anyway. Lolz. Moving on.

So! I spent Sunday with my family and friends. It was mother's day and although I gave my mom a mother's day present in advance she asked that as a present to her she wanted that the whole family would get together to visit the La Mesa Ecopark. So I took a day off from studying for my midterm so I could give her the present she wanted. I'm not sorry I did, we had a GREAT time!

When we got there, it was uber nice. The entrance was kinda...well, it reminded us of Jurassic Park. Once we got out of the car, the first thing we noticed was the cooler, fresher air. The entire place was full of trees! Fitting, because, it's an ecopark! Hehe. We went and looked around and the first thing we did was go boating.

We took two boats--mom and my two brothers in one, and me and 2 family friends (well, household help), in the other. I was the one rowing our boat so up until today my arms are sore! Hehe. It was not as easy as I thought.

Taking a break from rowing to camwhore. Hahah!

Still taking a break--Ate Gigi rowing for me. Ate Hazel behind me. It was so nice and peaceful there, but we definitely had a hell of a lot of OH SHIT moments! We thought we would topple over like a zillion times. Hehe.

JB, Mom and EJ

JB rowing | EJ rowing--he looks so weird. Lol! He could barely make the boat moveee~

The view from one side.

After we went boating, we posed for a few pictures... I'm so tempted to post the picture of EJ yawning, it's HILARIOUS, but I'm a nice big sister and wont embarrass him like that. Hehehe. So I'll post the proper pic.

LOL @ the guy behind us looking at the camera.

After having fun boating, we went to go to the horses. Only EJ and I wanted to take the horseride so...yeah. The pics were not at all flattering so I'm not including them here. After the horsie rides (I nearly got kicked off twice! Hehehe) we went and climbed up to go see the water in the reserve. There were 170 steps, and once we got up there we were wheezing. Mom and I were at least...everyone else was fine and dandy.

Downstairs...

Upstairs! Lol I was so sweaty and breathless. Hehehe.

After this we went home because we were so tired, and we just couldn't go around anymore. We passed by Ever Gotesco Commonwealth because that was where we usually get our glasses. It was near my prep school/grade school/high school so I practically grew up at the Ideal Optical Shop there..we get 50-70% off discounts on frames and services. Yay for discounts, right? My brothers needed new glasses (trivia: all of us in the family wear eyeglasses) so there we were. While they were getting their glasses I was walking around...and I got stuff! Hehe. I couldn't resist. I didn't technically break my 10-pan thing because my mom gave me the money to buy this stuff. Yay!

I got three nail polishes...not pictured. And I got falsies for CHEAP! 34PHP each pair, roughly $.70. Isn't that just cheap? The brand is Kinepin and it's apparently from Japan, and made from animal hair.

In the cute packaging. You can see the price! :D

Good quality and packaging for $.70!! I'm thinking about going back and geting more pairs.

And of course, I have to finish this off with a picture of my nails from Sunday:

They remind me of Star Trek. O.o;; Look, Brooke, diagonals! :D I tried it. :P

Also, I need your advice, girls. For some reason my face has gotten OILIER since I started using moisturizer. I realized that the dryness was from my skin asthma and I dealt with it, but now my face is just so OILY and it won't go back to normal. Normally it's tolerable but now within 5 minutes of washing my face, there is shine. I haven't changed my routine at all--same products, same order and routine, same diet...so tell me what is going on!! The spots on my face are going away but they are still there... I'll deal with that another time I just want the oiliness to go away. :(

Mini "haul" for the day!

Hello blogging world! This is my first proper post on my blog. :D Inaugural much?

So, I went to the derma with my mom. It wasn't my appointment, it was my aunt's. We went anyway...nakisingit kami. I just really needed to get a persistent allergy checked--turned out it was a skin asthma!

So then I get recommended treatments, etc...it was my first time at a derma so I was rather shocked at how expensive treatments could get! But I only spent Php2125 (including PF of what we guess is around 300-500) for now--I got recommended to fix my skin asthma rashes first before we started treating for my pimples and oily skin (>.<).  So I took home acnewin soap, an ointment, gel sunblock, 5 days worth of Claritin, a clindamycin solution and NeoStrata AHA lotion--which I can't apply until after my rashes go away.

After the dermatologist finished with me, my mom and I decided to go to the mall nearby and eat dinner. Once we finished we looked around a bit, and I got attracted by this tiangge stall that had makeup palettes for sale--imagine my annoyance when I saw fake MAC products!!

My mom went to get her eyeglasses' lenses tinted, so I went and looked around. I found a shop called Joyo...at least I think. I don't remember. But I got pretty earrings! Which is weird because I never really wear earrings...

I'm turning kikay!

It's okay...it's not too late. I'm just 18 after all!

I got two nautical themed earrings, they were really cute... just 20php for a pair. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, I was too lazy to break out the DSLR for these...so I just used my laptop's webcam.

And then I got two more pairs--a classic (FAKE!) half-pearl pair for when I'm lazy to match it with my clothes, and a dainty triangle thingamajig. I didn't bother to take pictures, but they were priced at P40 a pair... not bad. It astounds me what cheap things I can find nowadays (even cheaper if I bought at Divisoria or Quiapo).

So all in all the earrings cost me P120...so I didn't feel too bad spending my money which could have gone instead to makeup.

In other news, I'm still waiting for my CS palette, which my aunt bought and sent from the US (through CS' website) last March 1-3 (I don't remember which date exactly anymore). I'm getting paranoid, since it still hasn't arrived here yet, and it's been weeks. I know I'm supposed to give an allowance of 2-3 weeks, but omg. :( This is why I don't like buying online... but I'm being tempted to buy Ellana products. At least the concealer and foundation and finishing powder. But I'd have to get a kabuki brush too.

Can I use traditional eyeshadow with mineral makeup? Or just mineral makeup with mineral makeup?

Okay, time to clean my room!
