Day 13: 14 Good-For-You Lippies For Valentine's Day!

One day away! Day 13 features something sweet for the lips and made with real fruit pigment!

100 % Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze in Strawberry ($16 USD):  Get your daily dose of fruit with this lovely lip glaze. You'll be amazed how many organic fruit pigments are in one lipstick. The moisturizing base is made from avocado and cocoa butters. 100% natural, vegan and gluten-free!

The pigment is described as sheer but the only thing sheer is the texture. It glides on like a light moisturizing lipstick but has the rich colour of a lipstick. Strawberry is bright fun strawberry pink that looks gorgeous against a luminous bronze glow. You'll love the long-lasting colour and the pretty stain it leaves on the lips.

Have you tried this lip glaze? Love it? Hate it? Want it?

Day 7: 14 Good-For-You Lippies for Valentine's Day!

We're half way there beauties and I'm a day behind! Day 7 features a new favourite gloss that is infused with Argan Oil!

Josie Maran Lip Gloss in Happiness ($18 USD): Supermodel turned environmentalist, Josie Maran, created a cosmetic line that is truly "luxury with a conscience". After the birth of her first child, Maran wanted to make the world a better place. What a better way than creating beautiful products that are not harmful to your body or the environment?

Argan Oil has been called "liquid gold" by the people of Morocco for many centuries. This all-natural, 100% organic and chemical-free oil is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. The secret to natural beauty, it is truly a multi-tasking product that heals, repairs, and gives skin a youthful appearance. And if that wasn't good enough, Argan Oil is sourced exclusively from women's cooperatives which help support their economy, provide work and protect the Argan forest.

I am in love with this gloss! If you're looking for a hi-shine gloss that will make your lips look luscious you will love Maran's line. It is extremely moisturizing and feels super smooth - not tacky - on the lips. My lips remained hydrated well after it wore off. And the scent? Delish! Reminds me of almonds and coconuts. What I also loved was that the lip wand is the same size as the gloss tube. No wasting product!

I received a sample of Happiness, a sheer medium pink, that is such a wearable colour for any look and any time of the day. The lovely shimmer finish will leave your lips sparkling! So gloss-up those lips - it's good for you! Note: The swatches on the website are not a true depiction of the actual colour. Trying on in the store is recommended.

Have you tried this gloss? Love it? Hate it? Want it?

Dr. Oz and The Price of Beauty

I love beauty but not at the price of my health. Tuesday's Dr. Oz show was about the harmful toxins and chemicals in the makeup we use - I missed the show but read the article. A real eye opener. Over the years I've become more conscious of what I put on my skin and try to avoid products that contain parabens, sulfates and petroleum to name a few. It's hard to avoid when most of the brands you love still contain these ingredients.

Question is when will the other big name cosmetic companies wake up and stop putting harmful ingredients in products that are supposed enhance our beauty? Check out the Dr. Oz article "The Price of Beauty" to read about what's good for you and what ingredients to avoid.

What's your take? Do you only use all-natural or organic cosmetics? Do you read the ingredients on the labels?

Keep following my 14 Good-For-You Lippies For Valentine's Day to read about all natural or paraben-free lip products!

Day 3: 14 Good-For-You Lippies For Valentine's Day!

I love lip products - lipsticks, glosses, stains, lip balms you name it! I'm having so much fun featuring 14 good-for-you lippies for Valentine's Day! Day 3 features another lovely tinted balm that is both organic and eco-friendly.

Korres Lip Butter in Wild Rose ($9 USD): I'm new to the world of Korres and so far I'm loving it! Korres uses all natural formulations to correct the signs of aging and a variety of skin types. All products are 100% recyclable and boxes are made from recycled cardboard. Definitely a line you can indulge in without feeling guilty!

If you have never tried the popular Lip Butters then you MUST. This ultimate lip treatment keeps your lips super moisturized and corrects dehydrated lips (me!) rather than creating a waxy film that sits on top of the skin. I love how well this balm hugs my lips - lips stayed hydrated for hours! Contains Shea Butter and Rice Wax to seal in the hydration.

Wild Rose is a beautiful deep rose. The colour definitely tints your lips more than most tinted balms and is long-lasting. When I feel like going for something a little sexier for day without going over-the-top I love using Wild Rose. Gives me just enough colour for an easy polished look.

And the bonus? You can use this as a cheek tint! For how much you pay you get more bang for your buck. Applied on the cheeks gave me a glowy natural flush and actually lasted all day! I didn't have to reapply once. My skin can be very dry in the winter and this balmy blush was the perfect remedy.

Also available in: Jasmine, Pomegranate, Quince, Plum, Guava.

Day 2: 14 Good-For-You Lippies For Valentine's Day!

Day 2 of our 14 good-for-you lippies for Valentine's Day features a 100% organic tinted lip balm that will give you that "just kissed" look!

Julie Hewett Organic Camellia Balm in Ruby (Pot $20 USD): I can't tell you how much I adore Julie Hewett products. This has got to be one of my all-time favourite beauty lines. From the textures, the colours, the ingredients to the chic and glamorous packaging I love it all (and want it all)!

Camellia oil is an old ancient beauty remedy used in Ancient China. It is rich in vitamins A, B, D & E while Camellia oil is made up of 85% Oleic acid, which is known as the closest oil to your skin's natural oils. This little pot has many benefits; promotes healing of scars and imperfections, contains natural UVA protection, rich in anti-oxidants and gives your skin a natural glow. The original version can be used on your hands, eyes, and face.

I had heard rave reviews of the original Camellia Balm in clear so I was excited to receive the tinted version in Ruby. Everyone knows this Makeup Junkie is a fan of tinted lip balms! Ruby is a gorgeous sheer reddy-pink and gives your lips that "just kissed" look that I love. After the moisture wears off the tint lasts on your lips as a pretty stain.

The texture is very light feeling but leaves your lips moisturized. My lips are really dry though so I did have to reapply after a half hour or so but my lips stayed chap-free. It also has a nice light citrus flavour. Some of you may not like a pot but I love balms that come in pots. Plus, this one is so cute! The colour in the pot is so eye-catching you can't help but want it. But if you don't like dipping the finger, the original comes in a tube form.

Also available in Rose, Original and all come in a palette form.
