Beauty Of the Month Club

I signed up for Ipsy.com in January, did you as well? Ipsy is a beauty of the month club where you pay $10 a month and receive all kind of beauty products. The absolute excitement of getting fun girly things delivered to my door is almost more than I can stand! I did choose the one that was the least expensive (women with husbands feel me right?) so what I have gotten so far does reflect that...kind of. There have been some amazingly wonderful full sized products and a few trial sized things that I can now put in a travel beauty bag. I am also pretty excited that I can give away some of the products to you since I have already tried them out in the past and know that I love them =). Here is the video of me opening up the two very first bags that I received. Enjoy and don't forget to enter the Shabby Apple contest, it's the last day!!!

EOTD: Rusty Teal

Here's my EOTD/FOTD (although technically it's night now lol). I used a mix of products but the spotlight of this look are the rusty metallic shadows and that fabulous teal liner, which are mostly Darling Girl Cosmetics. Keep reading for details, and don't forget to click the pics!
I wish you could see the awesomeness of these colors, but they just don't show up in the photos. In person, the eyeliner looked teal from some angles and purple from other angles. Like, the color changed with the curve of my eye, so looking at the makeup in the mirror I could see a gradient of both teal and purple. It was so cool! The main lid color I used called The Countdown is a coppery color that shifts to peach that shifts to pink, it's so pretty. Used wet the pink really came out. I love the rusty pink and gold together♥
 Products:
-Lime Crime Makeup Candy Eyed Waterproof Eyeshadow helper
-DGC "The Countdown" on lid and outer lower lashline (applied wet with BFTE Mix & Fix)
-BFTE "Autumn" on middle of lid and lower lashline
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics "Lorien" on tearducts
-DGC "Provoke" on browbone
-DGC "Don't Teal Me You Love Me" (used wet with Mix & Fix as liner)
-MAC "Blacktrack" Fluidline (upper lashline)
-UD "Zero" pencil (lower waterline)
-Cover Girl Lash perfection mascara (upper lashes)
-Inglot Colorplay blue mascara (lower lashes)
-UD Naked Basics palette (brows)

Face/Cheeks:
-Reviva Labs primer
-Belleme BB Cream in Ivory
-BFTE Cosmetics mineral foundations in Alabaster and Bisque mixed
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Penelope
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics eyeshadow in Lorien (as highlight)

Lips:
-Darling Girl Cosmetics' Kiss You Off tinted balm in Just A Kiss
-The Countdown, Autumn, and Lorien eyeshadows
-clear gloss
I wanted to do a gold eye with rusty cheeks and rosy lips, but I wanted to use Darling Girl and I don't have any true golds from DG yet. (Must remedy asap!) So this was what happened instead. I think they eyes turned out well, and the lips kinda, lol. I wish you could see the blush better; it got washed out with the flash, which was unavoidable since the sun went down before I took pics. Can't wait for the daylight savings soon!
Anyway, I hope you liked this look. Thanks for reading! :)

Shabby Apple Giveaway, Win $50!!! {CLOSED}

For those of you that know me, you know that I love dressing up! I have always preferred wearing skirt and dresses to jeans. No outfit is complete without girly accessories....or a bow LOL! Feeling confidant in what you wear is super important. I rarely buy something that I don't love which cuts down on the buyer's remorse ; ). I am super loyal to certain stores for the styles they offer, the price I can get things for and for their customer service. With that being said have I told you lately how much I {heart} Shabby Apple? I have always been attracted to their vintage styles, their creative flare and the MODESTY of their clothing. That is something you can't find very easily so I am SO glad that Athelia Woolley decided to step on the scene and help us modest girls out! She began with a dream of being a part of the fashion world and bringing back classic vintage styles that compliment all body types. She never gave up and look at her now! I always get excited to see what they are coming up with next. For those of you that are lucky enough to live here in Utah they have even been known to have a HUGE sale where you can find tons of these pieces highly discounted (I'll keep you "in the know" on when). I wanted to share a few of my all time favs from their online store of wonderfulness!

EOTD: Soft Valentine's Day look

Click the pic for better quality :)
This was my EOTD yesterday for Valentine's Day. Nothing too fancy because I had to work, just cute, soft and colorful. It reminds me of those conversation heart candies. :3

Products:
-Lime Crime Candy Eyed Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer
-Sugarpill Mochi pressed eyeshadow (minty aqua on lid)
BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadows in:
-Caribbean (teal on outer half of lid)
-Tough Men Wear Pink (peach on inner half of lower lashline)
-Simply Me (purple on lower lashline)
-Whisper (apricot/violet duochrome on tearduct)
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (browns in crease and cream shimmer on browbone)
-Loreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara

My liner got a little messed up when I curled my lashes somehow, it kind of flaked off a little towards the inner corner which was weird. I also used an old dried out mascara so it's a little flaky as well, but I just got a new one today so yay. :D
Thanks for reading :)

The Grinch In February???

LOL so I totally found this on my memory card about a week ago. I was asked to do the Grinch's makeup for a Christmas party and had to practice. I figured the best way to see what I liked and what I didn't would be to film said "practice". There are quite a few things that I liked and for SURE some things I ended up not doing. No masks were allowed at the party and the guy playing the Grinch thought I was just going to do a few freckles on him. Little did he know....hee hee hee. So here I am in all of my Grinch glory. My camera died on me toward the end so it cuts off before I finish but I put some pictures in there of the final product. Hope you guys enjoy!!! BTW, what are you doing for Valentines Day???
Here's the guy that played the Grinch. He did an awesome job and never broke character! =)

Day 3: "Synergy" glitter eye look

I did this look last night for Day 3 of the 30 Day Challenge my friends and I are doing; you can check it out my other days here!
Day 3: a picture of you with glitter

I wanted to use some of my new Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadows and I love how they look! I'm calling this look "Synergy" because it totally reminds me of the character from Jem, one of my favorite cartoons as a little girl. The glitter totally looks like the glowing buttons on the Synergy computer machine thing! That's what I was thinking of while creating this look. ;)

You can see the iridescent colors on the outer edges best in this no-flash shot; they were more visible in person but of course the camera doesn't pick up colors like this, huhu :c
Products:
-BFTE Cosmetics Eye and Lip Primer
Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadows in:
-Prophecy (copper-tan-gold shade)
-Kaboom! (blackened reddish plum with sparkle)
-The End... (blackened purple with shimmer)
-Rapture (light lilac with reddish sheen)
-Lucky (white/teal duochrome with sparkle)
-Provoke (warm taupe with red sheen; I used this on my browbone)
-Sephora white pencil (on waterline)
-Mardi Gras (patina green with copper shimmer)
-Mystique (pale aqua frost with pink sheen)
-Glitter Glue (on lower lashline and outer corner)
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (tearduct only)
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-Ardell Demi Wispies w/ DUO Dark lash adhesive
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (upper lashline only)
-Loreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Felt Tip Liquid Liner
NYX Candy Glitter Liners in:
-Aqua, Purple, and El Dorado (mixed over the eyeliner)
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (on brow)
These shots show a bit of context and how the makeup looked on my face. I have to say, even though the pictures turned out okay, this looked so much cooler in person!
It's been so long since I've done a makeup look like this... it feels good to be back in the saddle. ;) I'm so in love with Provoke, it's an amazing color and I know I'll be using it a ton! You can see swatches of Provoke and some of these colors here. Swatches of the rest here and here.
I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to bringing you more looks for this challenge.
Thanks for reading!♥

30 Day Collab: Days 1 and 2

Some friends and I decided to do this 30 Day Makeup Challenge as a sort of collaboration together, yay! No promises to whether I'll be able to keep it up but I'm going to try ;)

Day 1: a picture of your face without makeup
I wasn't sweating posting a naked face pic until i actually had to do it, lol. I've posted bare-faced me before but it felt so deliberate this time, I guess. You can see a bit of how unhappy my skin has been lately. It's changed a lot in the last few months and I'm still figuring out what to do with it.

Day 2: a picture of your typical makeup
This is a fairly typical makeup look for me when I'm going to church or maybe out to eat or something. A semi-special occasion look.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've done makeup in the past 2 months so I feel a little rusty, lol. I used a moisture mask today so my skin wasn't as flaky while doing this makeup look which was good.

Products I used for my typical makeup look.
-Reviva Labs Makeup Primer
-Belleme BB Cream
-BFTE Cosmetics mineral foundation in Light Beige
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Secret Star
-BFTE Cosmetics "Butt Naked" (not pictured) face highlight
-BFTE Cosmetics Eye and Lip Primer (on eyes)
-NYX Slide On pencil in Golden Olive
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (on eyes/brows)
-Maybelline and Cover Girl mascaras (not pictured)
-NYX lip pencil in Nude Pink
-NYX Mega Shine gloss in Smokey Look
If you have a Facebook page and are interested in participating in this challenge collab, please go to my challenge album and comment with your page name and I'll add you to the list!
I hope you enjoyed this! I'm looking forward to doing these daily challenges so keep an eye out for them! Thanks for reading :)
