This is another look I did while on vacation; simple and neutral with a twist :) I used Tanzanite gel eyeliner from BFTE Cosmetics and Hot Rocks, one of my all-time favorite eyeshadows from Darling Girl Cosmetics.
Keep reading for more pics and full product list!
Taken outdoors with flash.
Taken indoors with flash; mainly I included this shot so you can see the shimmery-ness of Hot Rocks on my lid, lower lashline, and over the eyeliner :)

Here's another look I did while there, a gold and brown neutral eye using BFTE Cosmetics and a few other things. Keep reading to see all the details :)

Since this was several days ago I'm not 100% positive whatall products I used, but the list is accurate to the best of my recollection.
Nothing on my lips once again, though after I took these I think I used a Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick; not sure if it was Pin Up Peach or Lust For Blush.
This look reminds me a bit of my old look using some of these colors and a few others, but I think this one is much nicer since I made sure to blend it a lot for a soft effect. :)

On this day we took a ferry to an island that day and I ended up swimming in the ocean which I wasn't really prepared for, but hey, gotta be spontaneous sometimes right? I got washed over my head by waves about 3 times but my eye makeup didn't look too bad, I just had a little mascara or something smeared under my eyes lol. I wore sunglasses all day anyway so no one even noticed. :P
Thanks for reading♥

EOTD: Poolside Storm (DGC and BFTE)

*All products purchased by me except the bb cream which was a giveaway prize. All opinions are my own, I am not being compensated for this post.*

I'm on vacation again, woo! This one was rather spur-of-the-moment beach getaway with my whole family so I'm really enjoying having us all together. :)
Today I did a makeup look using Darling Girl and BFTE Cosmetics; it's another neutral-with-a pop-of-color kind of look because I was seriously lacking inspiration for what to do, lol. I like how it turned out though. Keep reading for the details...

I'm not wearing anything on my lips, just a little lip balm. The look was a bit darker and smokier in person so I didn't want to overwhelm my face with lipcolor.
After I finished the look, I used some of BFTE's Ornamental eyeshadow, a pale gold, and patted it on the middle of my lids and lower lashline just to add a little dimension.
Poolside Party is a blue/turquoise shade but due to the gold/green sheen and also the extra gold I used over it in this look, it turned out looking quite greenish on my skin. The color does shift though; if you look at the full face shots, you can see on the nearest eye it looks green, but on the far eye it looks more blue. I love it and recommend checking it out if you haven't yet!

EOTD: Faith (BFTE)

*All products purchased by me except the bb cream which was a giveaway prize, and Faith eyeshadow sample which was a gift. All opinions are my own, I am not being compensated for this post.*
I've been home for a week now but haven't really gotten a chance to do makeup until today. Jet lag is no fun! :<
Anyway, here's a look I did today; I was just going to do something fun, but then my brother said he wanted to take my sister and me to see Wolverine tonight, so I wanted to make this look wearable for that as well. I've been dying to use this eyeshadow from BFTE Cosmetics called Faith; while I was out visiting, Crystal was kind enough to let me have a sample, which I used in this look and I must say, as with most of her products, I'm in love! It's a gorgeous color♥
So happy to have my camera again ^______^
Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-Reviva Labs primer
-Sua Young BB Cream
-mark. loose setting powder
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Neon Trees
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, Naked2 as contour (light taupe)
-BFTE Cosmetics Light Bronzer
Eyes:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Milani Shadow Eyez pencil in Almond Cream
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-BFTE eyeshadow in Faith on outer half of lid (shimmery wine-rust shade)
-theBalm "Balm Jovi" Rockstar palette Adagio on inner lid and above crease (light cafe latte matte)
-Urban Decay WOS to blend edges (light cool nude matte)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Adoration as highlight (nude pearl)
-BFTE eyeshadow in Butt Naked on tearduct and middle of browbone (low-shimmer vanilla highlight shade)
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara
-Sonia Kashuk concealer quad, lightest shade
Lips:
-Belleme Cosmetics Kiss of Flavor listick in Pink Petal
-Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust For Blush

So besides the light nude matte shadows from palettes which I used to blend out the shadow, I only really used the one color in this look. Faith is a gorgeous eyeshadow, it has sort of a dark base and then the cranberryish shimmer with lighter pink tones. I applied some to my outer lid and then blended it out and up into the crease; then I patted on some more eyeshadow just to the outer lid for concentrated shimmer and color. You can see the difference, it looks like I used a darker crease color. I really like it ;3

If you want to buy Faith you can find it in The Violet Set and also the Soulmate mini collection on BFTE's site, but I don't think they sell it separately at this time.
Thanks for reading!

*All products were purchased by me except one which was provided for review. All opinions are my own.
This is a look from a few days ago when I basically just wanted to do some fun makeup. Who needs an excuse, right? ;D
I needed to break out my multitude of BFTE Cosmetics again, and try out a new product from Darling Girl Cosmetics. Read on for more!

-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Neon Trees
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (Faint and Crave as contour)

Lips:
-Darling Girl Cosmetics matte lipstick in Electric Creamsicle (unreleased)

This is the left (awkward) side of my face and my expression is a little weird lol, but I thought the makeup looked really good in this one.
I really like how the makeup looks in these pics, I think it looks colorful and fresh but not over-the-top. I am in love with Electric Creamsicle and I think Susan needs to release it in the shop! She said she wasn't sure about the formula so she sent it to me to test out, but I think it's great. It's sort of balmy, especially in this warm weather, so it's not as heavy or drying as a true matte lipstick. The coverage is pretty pigmented and buildable, and it leaves a nice stain on the lips which I actually like in this case. It's such a pretty melony coral color on me, I love it. Plus it goes perfectly with Neon Trees blush!♥

Darling Girl POTW: Swag

*This is a semi-sponsored post; all products were purchased by me with 20% discount from Darling Girl Cosmetics. I don't get any compensation for doing this post besides my discount, nor do I get anything if you click the links or buy the products. All opinions are 100% mine!*

Heyhey! It's that time again, my turn for the Darling Girl Cosmetics POTW, or Pick of the Week! I pick a product and Susan offers it 20% off for a whole week! Lucky you ;)

This week I chose the eyeshadow called Swag. Why? Well, just look at it...
This was swatched over DG's Primped and Primed primer which really makes the shift stand out!
It's sexy and it knows it...
Yeah, enough said.
Now, I will admit that the initial lightbulb to choose Swag as my POTW wasn't mine; the credit goes to my fellow Darling Girl Jeni. She asked me to do a look with Swag and Bubbles, two colors on her current DG wishlist. Your wish is my command Jeni! Hope you like it :)

For this look I decided to use Swag over my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Waves of White which I got recently. I'm not sure how it may have affected the color shiftiness of this eyeshadow but I know two things for sure: #1. This eyeshadow is extremely shifty! #2. My camera fails to fully capture the shiftiness, boooo. The swatches I took are really accurate but the pictures of my eye are a bit different from how it looked in person. (I just realized that my pictures look off partly because apparently I was shooting in 1600 ISO.... my camera resets every so often and I forgot to check the setting this time. I was wondering why they looked so grainy! v_v)

 Products:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Waves of White on lid/inner corner
-BFTE Cosmetics gel liner in Marcasite (dark gunmetal gray)
-DGC Swag on lid/lower lashline
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in Walk of Shame from crease to brow
-DGC Bubbles on tearduct/inner lower lashline
-DGC Adoration on browbone
theBalm "Balm Jovi" Rockstar Palette shades:
-Blink 1982 (satin plum-brown) crease
-Moderato (deep eggplant) outer corner and waterline
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (tightline)
-Maybelline The Rocket mascara
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette on brow
-Cover Girl clear mascara on brow
-Wet N' Wild Coverall foundation in 815 Fair
-mark. Powder Buff foundation

I think the moral of this story, (besides remembering to check your camera settings often), is that this eyeshadow is a chameleon that can change appearance depending on the person, lighting situations (it looked different in every room in my house!) and various bases used, etc. The mini-moral (if there is such a thing): you need this color.
This POTW should become available tomorrow. If you don't own Swag, at least get a sample of it because it's awesome, I promise you'll love it! As for me, I think I'll be getting a jar of this and passing my baggie sample on to another unsuspecting victim future DG customer makeup-lover. >;)

Underexposed flash pic to show sparkles!
Sadly it was monsooning out on the day I did this, so I didn't have much natural light for pictures. I had to do them the old-school way, standing in front of the lamp in my room, lol. These colors, being pretty light and with all kinds of shimmers and shines, were hard to capture on camera, but I tried. :/ I didn't have to do much editing to them since I don't think I could have made them much better anyway, lol.
The eyeliner color I used is actually more purple in person, like a deep smokey blackened eggplant, but it does have the blue shimmers also, and that's what mostly showed up in these photos. If you're wondering why you don't see the colors Rapture and The End on the website, they were part of the limited Cute de Grace collection and aren't available anymore.
Pic of how the makeup looks on my face for context :)
Thanks for reading!♥

Swatchfreak makeup collab: Dreamy Mermaid and Sultry Siren

Yay! I'm so excited to bring you this much-anticipated collaboration post! (You can check out Tamara's post here!)
The story: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I was contacted by the extremely gorgeous, sweet, and talented Tamara of Swatchfreak to do a makeup collab; we tossed around some ideas and her idea of Siren/Mermaid was agreed on. I chose Siren and Tamara chose Mermaid, and we each made a design for the other. Since I'm bad at drawing, I enlisted my sister BeckyPennArt to help me! I told her exactly what I wanted and she made it appear like magic. :D

The Designs:
Mermaid design; concept by me, digital artwork by BeckyPennArt. We made a version with notes like the one below but it's kind of distracting so I posted the cleaner one, hehe.
Tamara's Siren design; she used real makeup and drew it by hand, how cool!
After we sent each other our concept sketches, we agreed that creative license could be taken and we got busy planning and then sharing our looks. Check them out and please click for most detail!

The Dreamy Mermaid:
Tamara's Dreamy Mermaid, even more beautiful than I envisioned!♥
Mermaid eye close-up! I adore the colors and crushed-up seashell, Tamara's genius idea! The purple brow is also the exact color I imagined, it couldn't be more perfect.
Used products:
  • Fyrinnae – Nevermore – on brow (applied with water)
  • Sundara Cosmetics - Turmeric - in tearduct and outer under lash line area (from a company that don’t exist anymore :( )
  • Darling Girl Cosmetics – Purple Haze* – Soft Focus Blush + Fyrinnae – Nevermore + Fyrinnae - Marshmallow Puffs - all three used to go from yellow area on lid to pink, to purple
  • Fyrinnae – We’re All Mad Here – inner under lash line area
  • Fyrinnae – Futuristic Glamrock – in crease
  • Tick:Tock Cosmetics – Frozen in Time – for HL
  • I’m not pretty sure what false lashes I used, but I think they are from Misslyn

 The Sultry Siren:
My Siren, complete with damp hair ;P
Siren eye close-up!

 Products:
Since I did this look last September I don't remember exactly what-all products I used, but what I do remember is that I made the eye shape with Urban Decay Zero pencil and filled in the outer corner, crease, and under my eye. I went over the black with Lucky eyeshadow by Darling Girl Cosmetics, one of my fave eyeshadows. It's similar to Sugarpill's Lumi and looks amaaazing over a black base! I also used some black eyeshadow around the very edges to preserve the black like in the sketch. On my lid I used the popular Wet N' Wild eyeshadow color that is in several of their palettes; it's a warm brown with teal iridescence. I packed that heavily on my lid and blended it a little with the teal. Then I used a gold, I think it was Autumn by BFTE Cosmetics, on my inner lid, blended with the gold and coming down to a point at my tear duct. Under my lower lashline I used BFTE Patriot, a matte navy blue at the outer corner, and then more Lucky in the middle. I used Lucky again as my highlight shade from browbone to tear duct, and also patted some over the WnW brown to intensify the iridescence. Lashes are Ardell #139.
On my brow I used NYX and Sephora pencils in light and dark brown for the over-all shape, then combed through my brow hairs with some Darling Girl Glitter Glue and heavily applied the WnW brown-blue shade.
On my skin I think I just used Revlon Colorstay and mark. Powder Buff foundations, with some bronzer as a contour. I used Lucky again to highlight my cheekbone for an ethereal glow♥
My lips didn't quite turn out the way I wanted but I used NYX slim lip pencil in Black Berry, and OCC Lip Tar in RX (the blue one). Tamara had mentioned some gold at the cupid's bow so I used BFTE Autumn for that.
It was super hot and humid in my room and I started to feel sick so I didn't get to do both eyes, but I tried to hide it with my hair. :D
This was so much fun to do and I'm super grateful to Tamara for inviting me to participate! I also want to thank her for letting me use her cute little collage pics because I was too lazy to make my own. :)
Please go check out her blog, she does awesome makeup and take beautiful photos too!
Thanks so much for reading!♥
