EOTD: Faith (BFTE)

*All products purchased by me except the bb cream which was a giveaway prize, and Faith eyeshadow sample which was a gift. All opinions are my own, I am not being compensated for this post.*
I've been home for a week now but haven't really gotten a chance to do makeup until today. Jet lag is no fun! :<
Anyway, here's a look I did today; I was just going to do something fun, but then my brother said he wanted to take my sister and me to see Wolverine tonight, so I wanted to make this look wearable for that as well. I've been dying to use this eyeshadow from BFTE Cosmetics called Faith; while I was out visiting, Crystal was kind enough to let me have a sample, which I used in this look and I must say, as with most of her products, I'm in love! It's a gorgeous color♥
So happy to have my camera again ^______^
Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-Reviva Labs primer
-Sua Young BB Cream
-mark. loose setting powder
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Neon Trees
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, Naked2 as contour (light taupe)
-BFTE Cosmetics Light Bronzer
Eyes:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Milani Shadow Eyez pencil in Almond Cream
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-BFTE eyeshadow in Faith on outer half of lid (shimmery wine-rust shade)
-theBalm "Balm Jovi" Rockstar palette Adagio on inner lid and above crease (light cafe latte matte)
-Urban Decay WOS to blend edges (light cool nude matte)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Adoration as highlight (nude pearl)
-BFTE eyeshadow in Butt Naked on tearduct and middle of browbone (low-shimmer vanilla highlight shade)
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara
-Sonia Kashuk concealer quad, lightest shade
Lips:
-Belleme Cosmetics Kiss of Flavor listick in Pink Petal
-Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust For Blush

So besides the light nude matte shadows from palettes which I used to blend out the shadow, I only really used the one color in this look. Faith is a gorgeous eyeshadow, it has sort of a dark base and then the cranberryish shimmer with lighter pink tones. I applied some to my outer lid and then blended it out and up into the crease; then I patted on some more eyeshadow just to the outer lid for concentrated shimmer and color. You can see the difference, it looks like I used a darker crease color. I really like it ;3

If you want to buy Faith you can find it in The Violet Set and also the Soulmate mini collection on BFTE's site, but I don't think they sell it separately at this time.
Thanks for reading!

I can't wait to get home next week and have my Canon Rebel for pictures cuz the iPhone does a good job but it just doesn't do the colors justice. Anyway, hope you liked this lazy Sunday look! As always, thanks for reading♥

Look: Naval Orange

Hello! I'm back today with a look that's actually from over a week ago; Cosmetics Aficionado posted a Blog Hop for orange lips and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to participate. I did this look the next day but haven't had a chance to post it until now. I named it Naval Orange, which is a play on the fruit plus the fact that I used navy eyeliner with orange lips. Get it? ;) Anyway, check below for products used and you can also click the pics to view my makeup in (slightly embarrassing) detail if you so choose.
Products:

Face:
-Reviva Labs Primer
-Wet N' Wild Coverall foundation in 815 Fair
-mark. Powder Buff in Nude
-mark. setting powder
-mark. Bronze Pro bronzer
-Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (Naked2 as contour)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Neon Trees (light neon peach)
-BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadow in Butt Naked (highlight)

Eyes:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Naked Basics palette (Walk of Shame all over lid/browbone; Naked2, Faint, Crave on outer corner/crease/lower lashline)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Adoration (nude pearl on browbone)
-Sephora white eyeliner pencil (tearduct/inner corner and waterline)
-BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadow in Butt Naked (tearduct)
-Belleme Waterproof Pencil Eye Liner in Navy Blue (From abbamart.com)
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-Naked Basics palette (Faint on brows)
-Cover Girl clear mascara (on brows)

Lips:
-NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Orange
-MAC lipstick in Morange

I wanted a very classic look and opted for navy liner instead of plain black. I thought it would brighten up my eyes even more, and it did! If I'd had a matte navy gel liner or something, I would have used that, but this liner was all I had. I rather like the little bit of shimmer it gives though! This look was so much fun to do and I really lucked out with the natural lighting which made my pictures look as bright as I felt wearing this summery shade! ;)
Don't forget to check out the other posts in the orange lips blog hop, or feel free to add your own!

You can also find the navy eyeliner I used here at abbamart.com and get 10% off your first order if you use my affiliate link below; they're $6, come in tons of colors, and also stay-proof!

Purple Wing makeup look

I did a makeup look yesterday that was inspired by a photo I found on Pinterest. (If you're on Pinterest, you can follow me here!)

Please click for better viewing!
I couldn't see the model's lower eye since it was closed, so I did my own interpretation:
Close-up of the eye, without the extra editing.

Products:

Eyes:
BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadows in:
-Dark Prince (deep blackened purple over purple pencil)
-Wacky (dark orange on outer crease)
-Crush (light orange on inner crease)
-Soleil (pale yellow on lid)
-Yellow Brick Road (brighter yellow on very center of lid)
-Butt Naked (pale cream shimmer as highlight)
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (tightline)
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-DUO Dark lash glue
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (on brow)

Face:
-Revlon Colorstay foundation in Buff/Ivory mixed
-mark Bronze Pro (contour)
Darling Girl Cosmetics blushes in:
-BFTE Butt Naked (highlight)

Lips:
NYX Slim Lip Pencils in:
-BFTE Butt Naked

I wasn't really setting out to copy this look exactly but I did end up making it pretty similar. I edited my photo to be close to the original, the desaturation for example, but I'm no model of course, lol.
I learned something from creating this look; I desperately want a deep eggplant purple gel liner! Although I really liked the result I got with the products I used; the Belleme pencil alone is gorgeous and slightly shimmery, but I wanted a very dark purple for the liner so I used a little Mix & Fix with Dark Prince to darken it up. I used tape to create the clean line on the dramatic wing.

I hope you enjoy this look, I certainly enjoyed creating it. :) I may do this more often in future, since I have a whole board on Pinterest full of inspirational makeup looks.
I just published this and realized it's my 200th post! Thanks to those who read my blog and Like/Comment on my Facebook page, it means so much to me.

Thanks for reading!

EOTD: Rusty Teal

Here's my EOTD/FOTD (although technically it's night now lol). I used a mix of products but the spotlight of this look are the rusty metallic shadows and that fabulous teal liner, which are mostly Darling Girl Cosmetics. Keep reading for details, and don't forget to click the pics!
I wish you could see the awesomeness of these colors, but they just don't show up in the photos. In person, the eyeliner looked teal from some angles and purple from other angles. Like, the color changed with the curve of my eye, so looking at the makeup in the mirror I could see a gradient of both teal and purple. It was so cool! The main lid color I used called The Countdown is a coppery color that shifts to peach that shifts to pink, it's so pretty. Used wet the pink really came out. I love the rusty pink and gold together♥
 Products:
-Lime Crime Makeup Candy Eyed Waterproof Eyeshadow helper
-DGC "The Countdown" on lid and outer lower lashline (applied wet with BFTE Mix & Fix)
-BFTE "Autumn" on middle of lid and lower lashline
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics "Lorien" on tearducts
-DGC "Provoke" on browbone
-DGC "Don't Teal Me You Love Me" (used wet with Mix & Fix as liner)
-MAC "Blacktrack" Fluidline (upper lashline)
-UD "Zero" pencil (lower waterline)
-Cover Girl Lash perfection mascara (upper lashes)
-Inglot Colorplay blue mascara (lower lashes)
-UD Naked Basics palette (brows)

Face/Cheeks:
-Reviva Labs primer
-Belleme BB Cream in Ivory
-BFTE Cosmetics mineral foundations in Alabaster and Bisque mixed
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Penelope
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics eyeshadow in Lorien (as highlight)

Lips:
-Darling Girl Cosmetics' Kiss You Off tinted balm in Just A Kiss
-The Countdown, Autumn, and Lorien eyeshadows
-clear gloss
I wanted to do a gold eye with rusty cheeks and rosy lips, but I wanted to use Darling Girl and I don't have any true golds from DG yet. (Must remedy asap!) So this was what happened instead. I think they eyes turned out well, and the lips kinda, lol. I wish you could see the blush better; it got washed out with the flash, which was unavoidable since the sun went down before I took pics. Can't wait for the daylight savings soon!
Anyway, I hope you liked this look. Thanks for reading! :)

Some recent looks :)

This is an update with a few makeup looks I haven't posted yet; I think I mentioned the computer issues I've been having, and that extends to pictures. I got a new used laptop this past weekend but in the transfer process, everything I'd saved on my harddrive since August was erased, including all my makeup pictures. :( I've managed to find some here and there on my sister's laptop and my camera card (thank goodness I don't erase my cards right away!) so it's not a complete loss. I just wanted to get these posted before something else happens, lol!

Now, on to the looks! (Please click for max detail!)
This was my look for Christmas day, a green/gold semi-smokey cat eye and bright red lip.

Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-mark. Powder Buff in Nude
-BFTE Cosmetics' Butt Naked as highlighter
Eyes:
-Lime Crime Makeup Candy Eyed Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer
BFTE Cosmetics shadows in:
-Sassafras (outer lid)
-Autumn (inner lid)
-Ornamental (tearduct)
-Butt Naked (highlight)
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette in crease (Think I used Naked 2 and Faint)
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack for winged liner
-Maybelline Mega Plush mascara
Lips:
-NYX lipliner pencil in Hot Red
-Wet N' Wild MegaLast lipstick in Stoplight Red
-mark. Glow Baby Glow Hook-Up gloss in Blow Kisses (opaque red)

I left my brows naked, lol. I didn't have tons of time to do makeup since we traveled to another state for lunch with family, but my Aunt told me twice how much she loved my red lips. Later on I also added Lime Crime Makeup's Carousel Gloss in Candy Apple which added a gorgeous glossy shine and a sparkling ruby finish. Love it♥

This was a quick look I did to go out for sushi with my family on Saturday.

Products:
Face/Cheeks:
-Belleme BB Cream in Ivory
-Boots No.7 Radiant Glow Concealer in shade I
-mark. Powder Buff in Nude
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blushes in Secret Star and Cheeky
-BFTE Cosmetics' Butt Naked as highlighter
Eyes:
-BFTE Cosmetics Eye and Lip Primer
-Naked Basics palette shadows in Foxy and Walk of Shame (lid), Crave (eyeliner), and Faint/Crave (brows)
-BFTE Cosmetics' shadows in Butt Naked (highlight) and the mauve neutral from their Miss Conduct holiday set (Which is still available, btw!)
-Maybelline Mega Plush mascara
Lips:
-NYX Megs Shine glosses in Sugar Pie and Smokey Look

And um I think that's about it. I actually filled in my brows a little for this look using the Naked Basics palette; man, that little cutie does everything! (Review coming soon!) I also didn't realize my lips were still a little stained from the Revlon Cherries in the Snow lippie I'd been wearing the night before; that's what those bright pink spots are.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing these and I hope to be posting more looks regularly from now on. I also have tons of product hauls, swatches, and reviews to post so stick around for those! ;)

Thanks for reading!♥

Review: Belleme Multiplay Blemish Balm (BB Cream)

This is my much anticipated (by me anyway!) review of one of my favorite new products, Belleme Multiplay Blemish Balm from Abbamart.com
In case you didn't know, Abbamart is an online store specializing in beauty products of all kinds; they have jewelry, beauty tools,  makeup brushes, and their own line of makeup called Belleme Cosmetics.

I've recently been investigating BB Creams and thought they sounded like a product I should try out. I've always been a tinted moisturizer girl; one of my favorite combinations was a TM with a powder foundation over top. I liked this combo because it was easy and evened out my skin without looking or feeling heavy from a ton of makeup. However this BB Cream is far superior to any tinted moisturizer I've ever tried; in fact, this product has dramtically improved my life, which sounds hokey but if you read my summary at the end of this post, you'll find out why.

The product:

Belleme BB Cream comes in two shades, Ivory and Nude Beige, which are standard shade names for BB Creams. Since my skin is pretty fair and I'm usually always the first or second lightest shade in most foundations, I chose the shade Ivory:

Product Description
* Belleme blemish balm encompasses the qualities of primer, light coverage foundation, concealer and skin protection all in one must-have cream
Yes, I have found I can use this as all of the above products in one application with good results.

* Long-lasting, natural looking coverage brightens and perfects your complexion
It does last longer than the tinted moisturizers I've tried, even on my oily skin. I don't know if I'd call it brightening, though my complexion certainly isn't dulled by this product.

* Soft, smooth texture makes application exceptionally easy to control
Sure, since it's thick it's pretty easy to apply the amount you need on the various areas of your face.

* Light feel on your skin
It does feel light, not at all heavy or uncomfortable.

* Helps improve the appearance of fine lines and blemishes
I guess they mean long-term but I'm not sure if it actually improves the condition of my skin or not.

* Slender tube packaging ensures you can get every last drop out with no waste
Yes, the packaging is great!

* So natural-looking, even men can use it!
I haven't thought about men using it but I don't see why they couldn't, especially since it doesn't have a girly smell ;)

50 g / 1.7 FL OZ

After checking the ingredients nothing alarming jumped out at me which is always a plus. I don't pretend to know what every single ingredient is or what it does, but I'm trying to at least avoid things like parabens etc. This product is made in Korea which was important to me as well since I wanted to try a true, authentic BB Cream. (If you're not familiar with what BB Creams are or how they came to be so popular, check out Phyrra's awesomely informative post!)

Swatches; ignore the pink for now, that will be a later post ;)
With flash.
Bottom row: Belleme BB Cream unblended (left), lightly blended (middle), heavily blended (right).
With flash.
Natural light.

Pros:
-$12 from Abbamart's website, same price or slightly cheaper than most basic American or Asian BB Creams.
-No fragrance, great for those sensitive to fragrances.
-No parabens that I could see.
-Made in Korea but ships from US, so it's authentic but won't take weeks to ship if you're in the US. They also have a Korean website.
-Two shades to choose from, some BB's only offer one shade choice.
-Coverage is light to medium and buildable.
-Multitasking product can function as base, foundation, concealer, sunscreen.
-Large tube should last one person for months, even if used every day.
-Nice packaging, doesn't look or feel cheap. Convenient for travel and easy to use.
-Dries matte and doesn't make my oily skin super oily.
-Has SPF 36. (This is actually a con for me as I don't like sunscreen in my products or find them necessary to use every day, however I know I'm in the minority on this so the SPF will be a Pro for most people.)
-Makes my skin feel very soft and smooth, doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup.
-Does not transfer! I can blow my nose with a tissue and not get a single smudge of makeup on it.
-Does not oxidize! Remains the same color/shade even after 12+ hours of wear.

Cons:
-Coverage; might not be enough if you have serious skin issues.
-Texture; might be a little thick for some people to spread easily.
-Skintype; may accentuate very dry or flaky skin.
-Ingredients not listed on the site.

My thoughts:
I've been burned so many times by disappointing foundations/concealers/skin makeup in general, so I wasn't harboring high expectations for this BB Cream, however I thought it was a good place to start for a BB newbie. My youngest sister also wanted to test it since she too has been looking into trying BB Cream.
It arrived very quickly since it was shipped in the US, so right away we got to testing it.
That was back in the beginning of November, and we've been using it very regularly since. The shade Ivory suits both our complexions since we're both fairly light, although Abby has a bit of olive in her skin that I lack. Still, we can both use this cream without issue.  As you can see it is quite yellow-toned which is perfect for neutralizing all the redness in my face. It's also a nice thick, almost mousse-like consistency, not runny and thin like many other BB Creams and tinted moisturizers on the market.

How I wear it:
While testing this product over time I've tried wearing it alone, over a primer, with powder foundation over top, etc. Lately I've been wearing it without primer, just directly on my skin with my mark. Powder Buff pressed powder foundation applied over top with a powder puff and a little Boots no.7 undereye concealer. (This is my preferred method but if I needed to I would be comfortable wearing only this BB Cream without anything extra.)

Weartime:
My skin generally gets very oily over time, but while wearing this combination I went from about 9am to 10pm yesterday with no blotting or touch-ups of any kind, and was only mildly oily at the end of the day. My sister said my skin looked good last night, even though I wasn't wearing any other makeup besides the BB Cream/Powder Buff/Boots concealer under my eyes. Yay!

What I like:
Some things I love about it are that it doesn't smell. It doesn't transfer; my sister is a dancer and sweats a lot, but has no problems with this makeup sweating off. I have allergies and can blow my nose in a tissue and not see a single smudge of makeup. It also does not oxidize, darken, or turn orange; when I take it off at the end of the day, it's still the same color it was when I put it on that morning.

Application tips:
-First make sure your skin is clean, exfoliated, and moisturized.
-Squeeze a tiny pea-sized amount on your finger and transfer between your fingertips. I use my index and middle fingertips :)
-Choose one area, like nose, chin, forehead etc, and dot the product on with your fingertips.
-Immediately begin to smooth out the product to cover the chosen area. Don't wait to blend or dot product on the rest of your face first because the cream is thick and sets quickly, becoming harder to blend.
-Blend and/or pat lightly, don't rub it in like sunscreen, lol.
-Once you have one area covered, move on to the next. This will ensure that each area gets the custom coverage it requires depending on your skin's needs.
-I usually do left cheek, right cheek, nose and upper lip, chin, then forehead. I need different amounts of cream for each area since each area has different problems.
-If it seems too pale the first time, try using less product and targeting areas of your face instead of rubbing it all over. Also, if at first it seems not to match your skintone, wait a while and check again; you might find it has adjusted and the spf has faded, making it look more natural on your skin. (All of this happened to us when we first tried the BB Cream.)

Summary:
Overall I highly recommend this product. I think it's perfect for someone just starting to dabble in BB Creams; it's a real Asian BB Cream from Korea, but ships from the US, so it's more easily attainable than ordering an Asian BB Cream on ebay and possibly waiting weeks for it to arrive. It's inexpensive, doesn't have a lot of offensive ingredients (even Missha and other BB's I looked at had parabens!), no headachey fragrances (apparently common in other BB's), and you get a lot of product for the price.

Honestly, this product got me back into makeup. I've been having skin issues this year and was feeling too self-concious to take pictures of myself, even for my blog. This cream brought casual makeup back into my life; I no longer avoid doing makeup every day because it'll take an hour to correct my skin first and even longer to wash off afterward.
It's a great basic product for daily use and can perform multiple functions in one application. I haven't used anything else since I got it. My sister Abby also loves it and uses it every time she does her makeup. Not only that but we've gotten our other sister Becky using it now. I think we need to buy another tube or two... ;)
