Look: Rainbow Sherbet with BFTE and DGC

*All products were purchased by me except one which was provided for review. All opinions are my own.
This is a look from a few days ago when I basically just wanted to do some fun makeup. Who needs an excuse, right? ;D
I needed to break out my multitude of BFTE Cosmetics again, and try out a new product from Darling Girl Cosmetics. Read on for more!
 Products:

Eyes:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Milani Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Wear Eyeshadow pencil in Almond Cream
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in WOS (from crease to brow)
BFTE eyeshadows in:
-Walking on Water (teal w/ rainbow sparkles all over lids)
-Bubbly (peach gold metallic on inner corners)
-Belle of the Ball (matte dusty purple on outer corners)
-Blue Bird (bright cobalt blue between teal and purple)
-Darling Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow in Adoration (nude pearl on browbones)
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
-Prestige My Longest Lashes pro lengthening mascara
-theBalm "Balm Jovi" Rockstar palette (Presto, dark brown on brows)

Face/Cheeks:
-Reviva Labs primer
-Sua Young Mineral BB Cream
-mark. Powder Buff and setting powder
-Darling Girl Cosmetics blush in Neon Trees
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (Faint and Crave as contour)

Lips:
-Darling Girl Cosmetics matte lipstick in Electric Creamsicle (unreleased)

This is the left (awkward) side of my face and my expression is a little weird lol, but I thought the makeup looked really good in this one.
I really like how the makeup looks in these pics, I think it looks colorful and fresh but not over-the-top. I am in love with Electric Creamsicle and I think Susan needs to release it in the shop! She said she wasn't sure about the formula so she sent it to me to test out, but I think it's great. It's sort of balmy, especially in this warm weather, so it's not as heavy or drying as a true matte lipstick. The coverage is pretty pigmented and buildable, and it leaves a nice stain on the lips which I actually like in this case. It's such a pretty melony coral color on me, I love it. Plus it goes perfectly with Neon Trees blush!♥
Thanks for reading!

Mini Rimmel Haul

Rimmel Haul & Swatches

In my recent youtube haul I showed some new products I picked up from Rimmel & as promised here are the swatches.

Rimmel Apocalips Big Bang                                                   Rimmel Apocalips Nova

When I saw Lily Collins on the cover of Glamour I was desperate to find a similar red and I think "Big Bang" is the perfect colour, With a subtle hint of pink this red is exactly what I was looking for.

And as I am not one to pass on a bargain, I picked this second colour up as it was "buy one get one half price" This rose pink is the perfect summer colour!

Moving on....

If you saw my nail tutorial you would have seen me apply these mint coloured fake nails and I love this colour, so when I was in boots I check out every brand to find this shade, Barry M and Max Factor have a pretty close dupe but I had to go with Rimmel and I think it worked out really well.

I painted my middle finger with this Peppermint shade and though it is a little darker its a pretty good match, little tip use a lighter top coat if you want it to be a perfect match.

and once again it was "buy one get one half price" so I picked up the new Flex mascara, both Rimmel and Maybelline have create this coat by coat smooth finish mascara. Apparently you can keep applying this mascara without drying out your lashes I have yet to try it out.

....anyone else think this looks like the rather famous Benefit mascara wand???

Darling Girl POTW: Swag

*This is a semi-sponsored post; all products were purchased by me with 20% discount from Darling Girl Cosmetics. I don't get any compensation for doing this post besides my discount, nor do I get anything if you click the links or buy the products. All opinions are 100% mine!*

Heyhey! It's that time again, my turn for the Darling Girl Cosmetics POTW, or Pick of the Week! I pick a product and Susan offers it 20% off for a whole week! Lucky you ;)

This week I chose the eyeshadow called Swag. Why? Well, just look at it...
This was swatched over DG's Primped and Primed primer which really makes the shift stand out!
It's sexy and it knows it...
Yeah, enough said.
Now, I will admit that the initial lightbulb to choose Swag as my POTW wasn't mine; the credit goes to my fellow Darling Girl Jeni. She asked me to do a look with Swag and Bubbles, two colors on her current DG wishlist. Your wish is my command Jeni! Hope you like it :)

For this look I decided to use Swag over my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Waves of White which I got recently. I'm not sure how it may have affected the color shiftiness of this eyeshadow but I know two things for sure: #1. This eyeshadow is extremely shifty! #2. My camera fails to fully capture the shiftiness, boooo. The swatches I took are really accurate but the pictures of my eye are a bit different from how it looked in person. (I just realized that my pictures look off partly because apparently I was shooting in 1600 ISO.... my camera resets every so often and I forgot to check the setting this time. I was wondering why they looked so grainy! v_v)

 Products:
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Waves of White on lid/inner corner
-BFTE Cosmetics gel liner in Marcasite (dark gunmetal gray)
-DGC Swag on lid/lower lashline
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in Walk of Shame from crease to brow
-DGC Bubbles on tearduct/inner lower lashline
-DGC Adoration on browbone
theBalm "Balm Jovi" Rockstar Palette shades:
-Blink 1982 (satin plum-brown) crease
-Moderato (deep eggplant) outer corner and waterline
-MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (tightline)
-Maybelline The Rocket mascara
-Urban Decay Naked Basics palette on brow
-Cover Girl clear mascara on brow
-Wet N' Wild Coverall foundation in 815 Fair
-mark. Powder Buff foundation

I think the moral of this story, (besides remembering to check your camera settings often), is that this eyeshadow is a chameleon that can change appearance depending on the person, lighting situations (it looked different in every room in my house!) and various bases used, etc. The mini-moral (if there is such a thing): you need this color.
This POTW should become available tomorrow. If you don't own Swag, at least get a sample of it because it's awesome, I promise you'll love it! As for me, I think I'll be getting a jar of this and passing my baggie sample on to another unsuspecting victim future DG customer makeup-lover. >;)

Fat Vs Curvy

In my recent video I talked about body image. I spoke about my own negative body image and the research I have done on the subject but one thing that I said has got some people pretty annoyed.

I don't like the word "fat" to describe someones weight.

We all have fat on our bodies, we can't live without fat storage, so at what point do you decide that that fat is noteworthy. At what point does someone become so called "fat" I don't think its a healthy word to use to describe someone.

I have been called "Fat" and it sticks with you, doesn't matter how much weight I lose, I can still hear - "You're fat"
Once you get told you're fat it's hard to find the right balance, its hard to see when you aren't fat any more or when you may have taken your obsession to not be fat too far.

Fat is a dangerous word to use to describe someone, one persons idea of fat might be very different to another person that is why I do not use it.

We should love ourselves regardless of size, weight or height.
Be healthy, and be happy,

much love, Sineady x

Summer Memories

What does summer look like to you? What does it smell like? Taste like? Sound like? Early summers for me were spent in California where almost everyone had a pool in the backyard and if you didn't, your neighbor did. Putting poolrings on our ankles and pretending to be mermaids. Diving, jumping, holding my breath, staying in the pool as long and as late as we could. It was carefree and smelled of suntan lotion. It was hot concrete and cool water. It was popsicles and the ice cream truck, flip flops and sandals, tan skin and rollerskating to loud music on our CD player (or tape player if we're going way back!).
As years progress (which they always do even though we want time to stand still) memories of summer shifted slightly. Boys were introduced into the mix, freedom was explored, the beach became our "pool" and the nighttime was for play. BBQs on the beach, moonlight walks in the surf, crushes that made your heart heavy and friends that will last a lifetime. Road trips, tanning, magazines, music, dates,  movies, amazing food. It was also about this time (largely thanks to the magazines) that I became very aware of my body and how I didn't look the same as my friends. No longer was I carefree in my bathing suit like they still were. I started wearing shorts or something ANYthing wrapped around my waist. I would get to the edge of the pool and take off my covering just before I got in. I would be so envious of not only the girls I felt had perfect bodies, but of those that were maybe a touch heavier than me but just didn't CARE!!! I didn't think for a second that my eating habits had too much to do with this, it was more that I probably wasn't exercising like I should. I ate what my mom made and assumed it was good for me and didn't question it.

Moving along in our timeline and we get to college years and a bit after. The beach was still my home and the tanner I was the thinner I felt. I worked out occasionally but my summers mostly consisted of parties, drinking and dancing. I had moved out and was exploring more freedom. I lived off of cheap fast food and time with my friends. Summer's were a blur but still left imprints that I still feel today. I danced a bit for MTV and figured that was enough physical activity for me and continued poor eating habits but BOY was summer yummy!!! =) The body that I had "made" for myself I felt couldn't be changed (put aside the fact that I never tried) and that I should just get used to it.
In the year 2001 I left to live in Siberia for a year and a half and my summer there was unforgettable. I had stopped drinking (wow calories), mended my relationship with my Father in heaven and took off for a mission of service. There isn't a lot of processed things over in cities like Omsk & Tomsk so coupled with more clean eating and walking everywhere I lost soooooo much weight! I helped people plant their gardens, till their soil, taught them to dance, do makeup, how to pray. It was a remarkable experience and I made friends to last a lifetime. It was the first summer that I was pasty white (HA!) and didn't care about missing the beach. I felt confident in what I was doing and found myself.
I came home, got married, had children and bit by bit gained back and then some all of the weight I had lost in Russia but felt I could hide behind the attitude of "I'm a mom and it's okay to have a roll or two....or eight." Now DON'T get me wrong! Our bodies go through a lot to have children and I appreciate the "battle scars" I have earned because my sweet children are worth every one. What I was NOT acknowledging was that it wasn't okay to be super unhealthy and teach my boys that lifestyle. I wanted to teach them from a young age that being healthy is beautiful. Think about it. Whatever weight I am at, if I am strong, I am toned and have nothing to fear come summer time aka bathing suit time. I can be like the girls I envied and just not care because I take care of myself.
Since starting Revolt I have found a peace in knowing that I control my body and what goes into it. I can look in the mirror and like what I see. I can change bad habits and replace them with good ones. Better yet I can replace good habits with the BEST ones. I have more energy for this summer that is coming up. I will run around with my kids at Seven Peaks (yay water parks) feeling confident, lighter and more like that carefree kid I used to be. I am stronger now. I eat healthy foods but don't restrict myself (yay cheat Saturdays!). I love what I am becoming and am actually happy that it's slowly progressing so I know it's not a fad and I will gain it all back, but it's a lifestyle change and I LOVE it!!!
Nichole Huntsman before & after

June Photo A Day Challenge

A moment...

Life is made up of lots of little moments
and a single moment with the ones we love are always the most wonderful.

This is me and Sandy, I got her for my birthday when I was 10 years old.
Sandy died in December not long after my birthday last year. I still feel her here. At night I might feel a little weight on my leg, she would always lean against my legs at night to sleep, I would hear paws running across the kitchen floor and remember her, or hear a dog bark next door and imagine her reply. Though this is my mind playing tricks on me, I still enjoy those little moments I hold on to them because they are all I have.

See you all tomorrow, either on here or on twitter or instagram or facebook!

luckily Nina posted this on facebook this morning!

B is for...

I'm moving to Manchester on Tuesday!
Scared but excited to get back to living with my boyfriend, I've missed him!
I moved home to help my mom, I don't really want to discuss what she needed me for but I am finding it hard to leave, she is basically forcing me to live my own life and get out.
My mom does so much and I wish I could just stay and help more.

My biggest tip for moving: List everything that you put in each box on a piece of paper, either stick it to the side or to the inside lid so you always know what it in there.

See you all tomorrow, either on here or on twitter or instagram or facebook!
