Catherine Zeta-Jones Tutorial
Do you remember the first time you remember Catherine Zeta Jones in all of her gorgeous glory? For me it was Zorro and I thought she was so beautiful and such a great actress! I remember the magazine that came out when she wore this look on the red carpet as well. I was tickled that they were spotlighting how to make brown eyes pop and low and behold...I HAD BROWN EYES!!!! I was so eager to try the green all around and when the look was completed I LoVeD it and sported it for a while =). Just recently I got an email from Tanja asking for a Catherine look and I immediately remembered my fav green eye and decided to pull it out and share it with you. Enjoy and sport if for a while yourself! =)

EOTD: Fall Leaves
Hey guys, Happy Pepero Day! Okay so it's after midnight here but it's still the 11th somewhere, right? (If you don't know what it is, Google it! ;D)
Another EOTD using BFTE! This one was for a Fall Leaves inspired makeup challenge I participated in. I wanted to do something unconventional and bright, since I'm better at bright looks than dark ones lol. I'll admit I didn't know how I was going to successfully use all these colors together, but thankfully it turned out way better than I pictured! Although as soon as I blended the yellow with the blue the whole thing started looking like a rainbow eye but whatever, I can live with that. ;3

| My inspiration: yellow, orange, red leaves against a blue sky. This is from my backyard :) |
![]() |
| The bronziness of Isis makes it look orangey in the light! Loooove this color...<3 |

La Vie en Rose Special 20% Off For Their Favourite Bloggers And Our Readers!
It's nice when brands show their appreciation for bloggers. Unlike magazines, most of us don't get paid to write about beauty products. We do it because we love it.
La Vie en Rose has created a special Blog Fan Facebook tab for bloggers and their readers to enjoy 20% off regular priced merchandise including all the new Christmas styles! It is exclusively on-line and for Canadian shoppers only (sorry to my U.S. and International readers!).
The promo will run now until November 12 so hurry and get your Christmas shopping started! I've had a special preview of their Christmas items - very cute stuff! To access the special promo, you must 'Like' the La Vie en Rose Facebook page to access the promo code.
Enjoy! Thank you La Vie en Rose!
Fall Beauty Review 2011: Amp Up Your Glow With Benefit Watt's Up!
What defines a "glow"? I'll tell you what doesn't. If what you're using looks gritty on your skin, isn't blended well, or makes you look like a disco ball then you need to ditch it. I have highlighters in all kinds of forms: powders, loose powders, creams, gels, lotions, liquids, and even gooey jellies (which I only used in fashion photography). When there is one that really works and photographs well, I stick to it. My beloved M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish in Shimpagne used to be my go-to highlighter. It really is a beautiful highlighter, but at times it could sit really heavy on the skin if I didn't use a light hand or the right brush.Well, I think I've found a new love!
Benefit's Watt's Up! ($30 USD) has become my new favourite product for creating that luminous finish. It's a gorgeous champagne soft focus highlighter that gives your skin a really natural glow. It has a lovely cream-to-powder texture that melts into the skin. The powder finish gives it a lasting finish. I was still "lit" until I was ready to take off my makeup in the evening. I love applying it during the day to make me look fresh and awake and it also works great when contouring. The champagne shade has a warm undertone to it and will suit most skin tones, although I've only tried it on my skin tone and lighter. I imagine it would still work for darker skin tones but it would be great if they came out with another shade that has more peach and gold in it.
At times Benefit's packaging can be gimmicky, but I've always been a fan of their kitschy design. Watt's Up!'s design and packaging are not only eye catching but functional. I love the idea of having the stick highlighter on one side and a blending sponge on the other. No messy fingers! Although, while the sponge helps blend the highlighter beautifully, the warmth from your finger will make it blend into the skin better.
All in all, it may be pricey for a highlighter but it's right up there with other luxury brands. The added benefit of the sponge definitely makes it worth it plus the natural glow it gives. You can also use it on several areas. You can apply it on the brow bone, inner corner of eyes, on your lips to make them look poutier and to accent your decolletage. If you're in the market for a highlighter, this is one to definitely add to your list!
Have you tried Watt's Up!? Love it? Hate it? Want it?
Products were sent for editorial consideration and I truly love it.

Tutorial: Blue Steel
By request, this is my attempt at a picture tutorial for my recent Blue Steel look; I changed a few minor details but this is roughly how I did it the first time. The pictures aren't amazing because I had to do this at night. (I also used my sister's camera for the step-by-step pics since its smaller and easier to hold.) Anyway, this should give you some idea of how I did my look so I hope it helps if you were looking to create this look on your own :)
Instructions first, followed by complete product list and *gasp* more pics! ;)
Let's begin:
![]() |
| Here's my clean eye, prepped with UDPP. |
![]() |
| I added DGC Glitter Glue (this is too much!) all over upper and lower lid area; anywhere I would be applying eyeshadow. |
![]() |
| Now my lid is shiny and ready for makeup! ;3 |
![]() |
| Added Gun Metal to about mid-lid. |
![]() |
| Added Spellbound to outer half, sparing the very outer edge. |
![]() |
| Applied a little more Glitter Glue to very outer edge. (I'd recommend using a dark base instead. Casablanca Nights will be more opaque that way.) |
![]() |
| Patted on Casablanca Nights, carrying a bit over onto Spellbound. |
![]() |
| Added Spellbound to outer half of lower lashline over Glitter Glue; |
![]() |
| and Gun Metal the rest of the way, sparing tear duct area. |
![]() |
| Added white eyeliner to tear duct area and applied Moonlight over that. (Another highlighter or even Gun Metal would work to.) |
![]() |
| Next I applied Blueberry to blend between Spellbound and Gun Metal. This is before.. |
![]() |
| and after. It adds a bit of brightness, but you could also skip this part if you want. |
![]() |
| Added Blueberry to lower lashline, blending between Spellbound and Gun Metal. |
![]() |
| Next I buffed in some Very Vanilla around edges of whole eye, with emphasis on browbone. This gives the edges an airbrushed look without allowing the them to blend out too much. |
![]() |
| With a flat brush I patted High Roller glitter all over the darker colors on my outer lid and lower lashline. |
![]() |
| Eyeliner :) |
![]() |
| Added black pencil along waterlines with a little Black shadow over it to set. Curled my lashes, and applied mascara to top and bottom lashes. |
![]() |
| Filled in brow with Truffle and applied concealer and mineral foundation to my skin. All done! :) |
