Beauty Buzz: IMATS Toronto 2012!

The event of the year for makeup enthusiasts in Toronto is fast approaching! If you haven't heard about IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) Toronto, here is all the info you need to know. Open to everyone!

What: IMATS Toronto
When: November 17 (8:30 am - 5 pm) & 18 (10 am - 5 pm)
Location: The Toronto Congress Center North Hall
650 Dixon Rd

For me, it's time to restock the kit with some makeup must-haves. Check out my shopping list!

1. bdellium Brushes: I discovered this brand at last year's IMATS and now I can't get enough. A while ago I sadly lost my face makeup brushes - devastating for a makeup artist! I bought some cheapie brushes to hold me over until this year's IMATS. Can't wait to restock with some new bdellium brushes! For past reviews click here.
2. yaby: I took advantage of yaby's pop-up sale in Toronto and fell in love with their shadows, highlighters, and custom palettes! Now I want to pick up a couple of blushes in peachy pink and baby doll pink.
3. OCC Lip Tars: I will be surprised if I can get the shades I want. OCC is a popular booth at IMATS. I'm hoping to pick up some bridal friendly shades and a couple of shocking shades for fashion work. Fingers crossed!
4. Nigel Beauty Emporium: This is a must-visit booth for cheap deals on lashes and mascara wands! For past reviews click here

I am also hoping to catch Lottie's workshop on working in fashion. I look forward to seeing some old friends! Stay tuned for my IMATS haul!

A very special offer for you! :)

Hey guys, I want to share something special with you; my sister Becky Penn Art is offering commissions to design a special, one-of-a-kind, unique-to-you makeup look! Simply explain what you want and she will draw it; you can then use it to create your own beautiful makeup look:
" Hey fans, I'm really in need of some cash right now so for those of you with paypal or check, I'm opening SPECIAL commissions!

Get a personalized Eye makeup concept DRAWING either of an existing look of yours, or get one designed for you, only 3$ via paypal.
Message me or email: Becky.Penn@gmail.com

(Disclaimer: Offer is for drawing of makeup only. This is NOT a "portrait".  See picture above for example.) "
The best part of this offer? It's affordable- only $3 USD for a gorgeous custom eye look! Not into makeup but know someone who is? Give an extra-special Christmas gift to your makeup-loving friend or family member.
This is the makeup look I created from the sketch Becky made me. I was so so happy with the way everything turned out!
Since Becky is so creative and has an imagination for concept and color, I often beg her to design makeup looks for me this way lol. Her art is so beautiful and whimsical and colorful... it's so much fun to translate that onto my face.

Makeup Challenge

Benefit Blogger Challenge

So I entered the Benefit Blogger Challenge, you had to teach a male to apply makeup on you (such an cool idea) and it has an awesome prize!
(More about that if we get into the second round)

Seeing as my boyfriend is camera shy (and in London) I only had my dad left to ask. I must admits that asking my ex professional rugby player father to do my makeup seemed crazy but my dad knows how much I really want this and so he put his all into it!

Here was me before we started!
No makeup!
Oh and my skin that has been pretty good decides to break out the day before which I worried might make it even harder for my  poor dad.

But no, my dad actually took on the information so well and managed to follow my instructions like a pro.

By the end of it I looked in the mirror and it looked just like I had done it myself!

        Yay go daddy!

We are in the final for the Benefit Challenge, please vote for us! Pretty Please!!
