Singinferyoo: Pinkie Pie look!
Hey guys, check out this sweet look by my sister Abby (singinferyoo) inspired by Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic!
Please click the link to see more details on her Makeupbee! (And Follow/Luv while you're there!)
My sisters and I decided to do a little series of looks based on characters from the show. Abby wanted Pinkie Pie because Pinkie is her favorite pony; their personalities are identical, lol. I think this look embodies both Pinkie and Abby perfectly! I adore the bright colors, the pink brows, the little balloon details, and I love the way she did the eyeliner!
Remember to check out her Makeupbee to see the full look and all the details :)
Coming soon... Applejack! ;)

My Week In Photos
Where did I go right? I made all these changes and then just disappeared. I tend to bounce around from one thing to another and it's quite possible I should have been diagnosed with ADD as a kid. My kids keep me busy and when I'm not being a mom, I'm working at my career always trying to better myself and exercise my creativity.
Here's what this Makeup Junkie has been up to over the last two weeks and it's only going to get busier with more photo shoots (including a BIG one that I have to keep on the DL for now), weddings and events like the Toronto International Film Fest! It's the last week of summer - boohoo - so get out there and enjoy it!

My beautiful client and hair stylist, Eva Therese! I did her makeup for her uber sexy shoot! Photo taken by the talented Cynthia Bugala.
This gorgeous bride was once a Maid-of-Honor for one of my past brides!
One of my clients and high school classmates at her bridal trial. Grace Kelly inspired!
I wrangled up my boys and went on a makeup shopping trip with my makeup artist friends, Donna Marie and Lelo, to attend Yaby Cosmetics first pop-up shop in Toronto! I got a few shadows, highlighter in Light, a freestyle palette, and a few packages of their empties and one pack of grippies. The grippies came in handy for my Shu Uemura blushes and the empties were just perfect for my lipsticks. I put them in a small Aveda freestyle palette I've had for a while. If you didn't attend, you missed out on some really great discounts!
I'm excited to get back into doing photo shoots - my portfolio certainly needs an update! Something magical happens when you work with other creative people who share the same vision. I'm looking forward to a couple of big shoots coming up so stay tuned! I shot with up and coming photographer, Camille Rojas, and Donna Marie did the hair. I can't wait to see the finished shots!

Hey y'all! Emily's sister Becky here, did a quick EOTD for fun starring Beauty From The Earth shadows. Enjoy, and be sure to check out my artwork page >:D
I started with a JEP black base, and put the electric blue where I wanted a highlight.
Then applied bombshell over my crease and thinly under my water line. Then I added illusion over the blue JEP base and pat-blended over the main lid.
Then I added jaded around the entire eye and dabbed a little on the highlight area of my lid.
Butt Naked added to my brow bone and inner corner.

MAC vs Coastal Scents
Here's the latest purple look I've done. I really love it because all of the colors I used were matte. I've found that the more and more I use them the more I become obsessed. Then again all that goes away when I use a shimmer for the first time in months and freak out that my eye looks glossy and wet, to DIE for LOL =D!!! All in all I think makeup is about phases, whatever we are feeling, how much time we have and how inventive we want to be. For me I have been using the CS Blush Palette like it is going out of STYLE!!!! So when I tried this vibrant purple I was shocked at how much I had missed drama. How long it had been! The hubs had requested a smokey eye (Idid them a lot when we met) and I am so very glad that he did =). Anyhoooo, this look is a little different for one very big reason. ONE eye is MAC and ONE eye is from the Coastal Scents 88 Palette. Can you see the differences? There are some of course but for those not ready to shell out almost $15 for one eyeshadow the 88 palette, at $19.99, is a pretty welcomed sacrifice. The colors themselves are so pigmented and long lasting that they performed just as well as MAC all day long (of course I used my Urban Decay Primer Potion under both!). I hope that you enjoy this fun wearable purple and be looking for more comparison tutorials to come!

Party Problems!
Wedding, Ball, Party and Debs (Irish Prom)
are all popular occasions for this time of year!
Hopefully I can help sort your party problem!
1. Picture Perfect
Getting your make-up just right for that special day can seems impossible but it doesn't have to be!
I have tutorials that will get help you get photo ready!
First The Basics!
This video explains everything you need to know to get your makeup to last and more importantly look prefect in photos!
Flawless Foundation
Getting flawless skin can be tricky especially if you suffer from skin problems like me, but I share my favourite tips here!
Contour Queen
Contouring and highlight will take your look from great to picture perfect!
Photos can make the face look flat and fuller then it truly is, but hopefully this simple beginners tutorial will help!
One tip I will give you
Dark skin - Highlight More
Work with your natural dark contours.
Light Skin - Contour More
Work with your natural pale highlights.
2. Matchy Matchy
I am not the biggest fan of matching the same tones in your dress with your makeup but I don't see the harm in coordination them, So lets talk colours!
For Blue/Navy Tones
You could try this look -
(by the way my dress is from New look)
Black & White Dresses
The most popular question I seem to get is about matching makeup to black or white (or both) dresses, I always say that a red lips and liner really seem to work!
This look work prefect for photographs too so its a complete look!
This one is a little bit more vintage but it equally works
Mixed Dresses
My new tutorial is a look for any dress!!
These are the most popular looks I get asked about but feel free to leave a comment with your dress colours! I am going on a break with my boyfriend Jonathan for a while but when I get back I will update with new look, just leave a comment!

Nail Moment: Dior Vernis Makes Rainbows
Top - Bottom (rainbow): Calypso, Cosmo, Lagoon, and Acapulco.
I must have been channeling rainbows on Friday when I drafted this post because the next day we saw a rainbow - actually a double rainbow - that stretched from one end of the city to the other. I don't know if it's been the growing support for gay rights or seeing these lovely Dior polishes from the Summer collection - maybe a mix of both - but a nail lacquered rainbow painting just seemed right. You'd think my rainbow was painted by my 6 year old, but sadly this is my dandy handy work. Hey, it's not as easy to paint with nail polish brushes as you think!
The summer shades aren't out of the ordinary, but they have the right amount of glossy shine and pigment to make a statement. The brush, however, is pretty different compared to other brands. The brush is wide and tapers slightly at the bottom to help contour to the curve of your cuticle. I like the shape and find it really easy to work with. If you tend to be drawn to high-end nail polishes, you will love Dior. They are known for their fashion-forward straight-off-the-runway colours. I'm lusting after a deep grape shade new for Fall!
For your enjoyment, here is the beautiful rainbow we were lucky enough to catch! This was taken by my husband who is a photographer buff. I think he changed 4 different lenses in a matter of minutes! Rainbows to me are a sign of peace, love and luck or maybe it's a sign from the Big Guy that He is pro gay rights. Hmm...
Products were sent for editorial consideration and I truly love them.
