Day 9: "Makeup with your eyes closed" tutorial ;)

It's Day 9 and today I have something special for you...
It's a video my sister Becky and I made several weeks ago on a whim. We decided to film ourselves putting on makeup... with our eyes closed. It's pretty silly, lol. It's also long so if you can't watch the whole thing you can skip to near the end when we "reveal" our "looks". ;)
You can see the video HERE.
It kind of spoils the surprise of the video but I couldn't not post this since it shows how truly crazy the makeup looked in person.... xD
This was my palette after we finished. Now I cringe every time I watch myself rub the brush all over it lol. >.<
This was tons of fun and a good reminder not to take makeup so seriously all the time. I hope you enjoy it ;)

Please check out the other 90 Days of Beauty bloggers over there --->
Thanks!<3

Happy Lunar New Year!

Hey guys, Happy New Year! Just a little update for y'all, didn't want you to think I'd disappeared. ;3 I really wanted to do a Chinese New Year themed makeup look, since last year's failed...
yeah.... don't ask, lol.
Sadly I've been a little under the weather these last few days, so I wasn't able to do makeup. :(
Instead I thought I'd do a little Chinese New Year themed post with something else that's dear to my heart...
This is my Chinese New Year design I made last year! You start with a template of a naked model, (actually she's wearing underwear ;3), and can draw anything you want, and upload it as a finished picture to your profile! I drew this entire design, from the hair/makeup to the outfit and lantern, and even the items in the background. I was heavily influenced by the beautiful traditional clothing on this website; I literally stared for hours at the gorgeous little dolls! Everything was carefully researched for accuracy, but of course I added a lot of my own creative flair to the outfit. <3
goSupermodel is a community/game site for young girls, though actually there are girls of all ages there. I volunteer as a moderator to help keep the site safe, and I've also been involved in some projects like this one for Lunar/Chinese New Year 2010! I wrote a special article about the holiday, including family traditions and the Festival of Lanterns. I also drew a lantern, which was then given to each model on the site as a free gift! :D
I made this lantern completely from scratch! This is the original size.
Here's the lantern zoomed in; you can see it's drawn in pixels.
Here's my model Eriya's 2011 Chinese/Lunar New Year outfit I dressed her in today; I didn't draw the outfit, but you can see she's holding my lantern! ^^
I'm not Asian but I really like this holiday. I hope everyone had a wonderful day and I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations, even if they weren't exactly makeup. Happy New Year! ;)

EotD featuring BFTE: Journey and blah

Here's an eye I did a few nights ago. I had a little trouble getting the pigments to stick/blend.. next time I'll use a base. ;P I only did one eye, as you can see...
I used BFTE pigments (dry)  in Sunset (on lid), Grape (crease), Livid (crease/outer v), Whisper (highlight dusted on and around eye), and Moonlight (inner corner). It looked prettier in person, I liked the way Whisper twinkled and added dimension. :3
This is from the other day right after I got my BFTE order! :D I ordered a few things including Journey, the CotW. I'm wearing it in these pics. (That's my little sis holding the card; I PROMISE I did NOT tell her to do that, haha! I don't even know why she had that thing...
I threw on some Journey before running out to lunch for my other sister's birthday. I love Journey; I thought it would be too glittery for my liking, but it's perfect. Shimmery, but the consistency is like Suede, aka like butter or velvet or something else that's really soft and silky lol. It has just enough green in it to bring out my brown eyes.
We ate at our favorite sushi restaurant, and then went shopping at the Korean market. We found this nail machine; it takes your picture and puts it on your nail! How crazy is that? xD I didn't try it because I have no nails. :p (We enjoyed watching the K-Pop videos on the TV sets in the background, though.) Happy birthday Becky, saranghae! <3
