EotD: Ziggy Stardust

 Hello :)
This is an EotD I did a few nights ago for fun. For some reason it's hard to see in the first pic but I used orange and red on the lid; it looks like the red kind of took over but the orange was there, I assure you! I wanted to do a sunset type look using orange, red, and purple/deep blue. Then it sort of morphed into this "80's futuristic" look a'la Ziggy Stardust.. that's what the colors reminded me of, lol.
Products:

-BFTE Cosmetics primer
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
-BH 120 palette, peachy shade on inner corner of lid
-Sugarpill Flame point on middle of lid
-Sugarpill Love+ on outer third of lid
-Sugarpill Poison Plum on outer corner and crease
-CS 88 Palette, deepest matte blue to deepen crease, blended out over purple, and outer corner of lower lashline
-Sugarpill Royal Sugar under lower lashline
-BFTE Blue Bird on waterline and tearduct
-Sugarpill Tako on browbone
Sugarpill Tiara as highlight, applied on browbone and around/partially over the purple
BFTE Whisper applied over crease to blend purple and silver together
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
-Maybelline Mega Plush mascara in Blackest Black
-Duo Dark lash glue
-Andrea Modlash falsies in 53 Black
-CS 88 Palette, various shades on brow

I tried to use Royal Sugar on my lower lashline but it wasn't really sticking so I reverted to an old favorite, BFTE's Blue Bird. It stayed amazingly well on my waterline, better than pencil or anything else I've tried. I think I might have stumbled onto something great :D
Unfortunately, the flash in these pics cut through the silver on my browbone; in person it was more solid and very shiny and looked really cool. I think for certain looks, using a reflective silver instead of a neutral light shadow as a highlight can give a look a really cool effect :)

FOTD: Starlight

Hey everyone! I hope those of you celebrating Thanksgiving had a great holiday! I spent mine with my family at our home; it was really low-key but we had a really sweet Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, cooked by my amazing Mom. We got to spend some quality time all together too, which was nice :)

This was a just-for-fun look I did last week; I used mostly BFTE Cosmetics shadows and 2 others from a company I no longer support but wanted to use them since I already paid money for them. I also used my studio photography equipment to take the photos since I've been neglecting it. (Bad Emily!) So take a look and don't forget to click the pics to get a better view. :)

Products:

Eyes:
-Lime Crime Candy Eyed Waterproof Eyeshadow Helper
-Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue

-Autumn on inner corner (metallic gold)
-Dark Prince  in crease and outer corner (blackened purple)
-Way Up High on browbone (matte white with gold sheen)
-Ornamental in center of browbone (pale gold)
-Glistening patted on center of lid (sparkly white with pink sheen)
Cupcake above crease (light shimmering pink)
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On pencil in Perversion (waterline)
-Maybelline Mega Plush mascara in Blackest Black

I did a full face which I haven't done in a while ;D I'm trying out a new BB Cream and liking it so far, I'll be doing a review on this stuff soon!
Hope you liked it, thanks for reading!

EOTD: Smokey Watermelon with Concrete Minerals and BFTE

Here's a look I did a few nights ago; I'm calling it Smokey Watermelon. (Descriptive, isn't it?) lol
I was testing out some new products including a few samples my friend sent me, so this look was sort of for her. (Thanks Marisa!)
Once again, the pictures look dull when viewed on the page as-is, so please click to view them in full size and color! :)
Products:

-Lime Crime Shadow Helper
-Tick:Tock Cosmetics Infinity Eyeshadow Base in Black Hole
-Concrete Minerals Pro Matte shadow in Hi-Fi (pink in crease/outer corner)
-Concrete Minerals Pro Matte shadow in Gossip (green on lower lashline)
-BFTE Cosmetics shadow in Meteor Shower (black w/ multicolor sparkles on lid/lower lashline)
-BFTE Cosmetics shadows in Very Vanilla and Butt Naked (browbone/inner corner)
-Urban Decay "Perversion" eyeliner pencil (lid and waterline)
-Sephora white pencil (inner corner)
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-NYX "Tear Drop" false lashes
-Coastal Scents 88 Palette (brown shades on brow)
-Cover Girl clear mascara (on brow)

Hi-Fi is amazing!! I don't have much experience with Concrete Minerals but I am very impressed with this shade; it is a saturated and vibrant color and blends like a dream<3 p="p">
I wasn't as thrilled with Gossip, the color seems more sheer than Hi-Fi and didn't really stick well to my lower lashline area, though I used a base. It seemed to get darker and duller after application which could have to do with my skintone and body chemistry, I do find this happens with certain shades. I wanted bold color but had a hard time getting it to stick while blending. I will say that this was my first time using these shadows so maybe I just need to practice application technique to get the most from the product.
I'm excited to try the other 2 Pro Matte colors my friend sent me so keep an eye out for that coming up soon!
**EDIT: Picture tutorial is up on Makeupbee!**

EOTD: Lava Peacock with BFTE Cosmetics

Hey there! I haven't blogged in a few weeks because it's been crazy and busy around here. I'm back now with a little eye look for you :)
I unofficially named it "Lava Peacock" after the two main colors used in the look. Please scroll down for more pictures and details! (And remember to click the pics for full-sized viewing!)

 Products:
-Lime Crime Makeup Candy Eyed Shadow Helper
-Tick:Tock Infinity Eyeshadow Base in Black Hole (black)
BFTE Cosmetics shadows in:
 -Peacock (teal on lid/lower lashline)
-Lava Momma (hot magenta on crease/outer corner)
-Whisper (apricot/violet duochrome applied all over Lava Momma, tearduct, browbone)
-Very Vanilla (matte vanilla on browbone)
-Loreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black felt-tip liquid liner pen
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencil in Perversion (waterlines)
-Shu Uemura curler
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-Wet N' Wild coloricon pencil in Taupe (on brow)
-Coastal Scents 88 Palette (taupe shade on brow)
-Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Light
-mark. Powder Buff in Nude
Nakey face ;P
Lava Momma is a really bright hot pink color, but blended a little with the teal it gave a purplish cast in some pics; I also used Whisper over the pink, which has a violet sheen so that gave the appearance of more purple as well. I used a black base on the lid which made the green/teal iridescence in Peacock really stand out; the color and sheen reminds me a lot of the shell of a Japanese beetle. ;) I tried to keep this look simple because I wanted to do a little step-by-step tutorial for it, which you will be able to find on my Makeupbee profile :)

Hope you enjoyed this and I hope to be back into more makeup really soon!

Makeupbee Contest Look: Scarlet Macaw

Hey guys! I've been pretty busy lately so I guess Summer is in full-swing now ;)
I have a look to share which I'm excited about! It's for the Makeupbee/Inglot Tropical themed contest.
 (VOTE FOR MY ENTRY HERE!)
My inspiration was the Scarlet Macaw in this lovely photo taken by RainaDayze:

Always remember to credit back to the original owner!
I love the colors in the feathers so I tried to capture them in my look. I used mainly red, green, and blue, with a little yellow thrown in; I also added black and white accents and finished it off with bold blue/black feathery lashes to mimic the darker feathers at the tips of the bird's wings.

Lips:
NYX Slim Lip Pencils in:

-Tangerine (middle of lower lip)

My favorite part of this look is actually the lips; I wasn't trying to do Ombre lips but it sort of ended up having a slight Ombre effect which I think looks really cool. I just did a two-toned lip, leaving the bottom one nearly nude but the shape is still visible. (I call it the Kim Possible lip, lol.)

I went through a lot to secure this look; I'd been planning to do something for the contest since before it started but life kept me from it until last Monday. Unfortunately my efforts were not blessed with fruit.. I ended up trying and failing multiple times, lol. Needless to say I was bummed. :(
Later in the week I rallied myself to try again and this is what happened. Thankfully this time I had the inspiration and motivation to achieve it. (The parrot idea really paid off! ;D)
I also somehow managed to take good photos; it was a very overcast day so there was hardly any sunlight but I think that actually made my pictures better. I just used my tripod, a reflector, and natural light from my window. Oh, and a fan to keep me cool and blow my hair around a little for effect ;)

I hope you enjoyed it and again, please vote for my entry on Makeupbee! There's only a few days left in the contest.
Thanks for reading!<33

EOTD: Candy Dragon

Hey there! After a very busy but thoroughly enjoyable weekend, I'm back with a new look; it's sort of unofficially called "Candy Dragon" because of the colors, obviously, and because the shape reminds me a bit of a dragon. Or something.
My inspiration came from my model's outfit on se.gosupermodel.com
I loved the color combination of the pretty pastels with the indigo hair and gold accents, and you may be able to see the shape of her fin-like ears and gold wings in the shape of the eyeshadow. ;3 I used some new products, as well as some I haven't used in a while. I don't know if the colors look quite pastel but anyway..
Click the pics to view full size/color/detail:
Sorry this one is so dark but I didn't want to obliterate the detail by messing too much with the exposure etc.
This is the one I edited most heavily because the white balance was weird, but I think it's my favorite picture; it looks cool :)
Products:

-TFSI Candlelight
-Tick:Tock Cosmetics Infinity Shadow Base in Milky Way (white)
-Lime Crime Makeup D'Antoinette Fantasy Palette
-BH 120 Palette, 1st edition (pale butter yellow shade)
-CS 88 Palette (purple and pink shades)
-BFTE "Midnight Kisses" (deep blurple on outer edge)
-BFTE "Aphrodite" (sheer shimmery purple patted over purple shade)
-BFTE "Soleil" (pale metallic yellow on tearduct)
-BFTE "Autumn" (metallic gold) with BFTE Mix & Fix
-BFTE "Way Up High" and "Satin Sheets" (whites on browbone, outer edge, under tearduct)
-Lime Crime Makeup Uniliner liquid liners in Quill and Orchid-acious (black and purple)
-Sephora white pencil on waterline
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara
-Ardell lashes
-Blue and purple shades from 88 palette and Midnight Kisses on brow, used with Mix & Fix
-Mehron Celebre Pro HD creme foundation and mark. Powder Buff in Nude on skin

I'm so used to taking makeup pics in daylight now but last night I was struck with inspiration so I had to make do with my old system of regular lights and using flash; that's why each photo looks a bit different, because I'm constantly altering the lighting/angle etc. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this look! It was challenging to do because it's a bit out of my norm, but I think it turned out okay.

Thanks for reading!

Day 9: "Makeup with your eyes closed" tutorial ;)

It's Day 9 and today I have something special for you...
It's a video my sister Becky and I made several weeks ago on a whim. We decided to film ourselves putting on makeup... with our eyes closed. It's pretty silly, lol. It's also long so if you can't watch the whole thing you can skip to near the end when we "reveal" our "looks". ;)
You can see the video HERE.
It kind of spoils the surprise of the video but I couldn't not post this since it shows how truly crazy the makeup looked in person.... xD
This was my palette after we finished. Now I cringe every time I watch myself rub the brush all over it lol. >.<
This was tons of fun and a good reminder not to take makeup so seriously all the time. I hope you enjoy it ;)

Please check out the other 90 Days of Beauty bloggers over there --->
Thanks!<3

UD/BFTE EOTD

I hope the title doesn't make your eyes cross! >,< Here's a look I did for fun today using some new products, mainly my new Urban Decay Shadow Sticks and some BFTE samples I got from a friend :)
Products:
-UDPP
-Urban Decay Shadow Sticks in Juju (light golden brown blended out on lid) and Clash (bright blue on lower lashline)
BFTE shadows in:
-Bat Wing (shimmery bronzey brown on lid)
-Caribbean (bright turquoise, applied over Clash on lower lashline)
-Ornamental (pale gold on browbone and tearduct as highlight)
-Honey (light bronze and gold sparkles patted on middle lid over Bat Wing, and used as highlight over Ornamental)
-Sephora mini white pencil (tearduct)
-BFTE gel liner in Chocolate Mousse (just a touch in upper lashline)
-Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara in Very Black
-CS 88 Palette, medium brown (on brow)
-Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Light
-BFTE mineral foundation in Light Beige

I tried adding some stuff to my waterline but in the end it just looked horrible and made my eye water and turn bloodshot lol. I also skipped eyeliner because I didn't feel like using it and then washing it off, muahaha! You can see a wee bit of me eyelid where the liner would go... it's kinda cute :3
No-flashshot
Aaaand my otherwise naked face. We'll pretend my skin doesn't look scary, okay? Okay!
I had some difficulty photographing these colors accurately; in person the lid looked cooler and more taupey, but for some reason the colors look very warm/golden in the pics. Ah well, I love these colors and Honey is now on my wishlist; it's sparkly goodness that's very wearable. ;)

Thanks for reading!<3

Bright pink, purple, blue and gold with BFTE

Here's a recent eye look I did back before my Valentine's look; I hadn't done any fun makeup since before the new year and I just felt like playing! When it comes to fun eyeshadow, I just love using bright pink, purple and blue together. I did something a little different this time by adding the gold over my eyeliner to make it pop!

-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-NYX JEP Milk
-CS 88 Palette, matte light pink on lid
-BFTE Playful, matte periwinkle blue on outer corner

-BFTE Autumn, smooth metallic gold on uperlashline over Loreal Carbon Black felt tip liquid liner pen
-BFTE Clear Skies, bright shimmery sky blue on lower lashline over UD Radium pencil
-BFTE Lace, off-white with golden shimmer to highlight browbone and inner corner/tearduct
-BFTE Very Vanilla, matte vanilla to blend edges
-Wet n' Wild Fantasy Makers glitter eyeliner (teal) lower lashline on outer corner/wing
-BFTE High Roller glitter (blue) over patted over glitter eyeliner

-Andrea modlash #33 falsies
-Sephora mini brown pencil on brows
-88 palette, medium brown on brows
-Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Light
-BFTE mineral foundation in Light Beige
I forgot I used this purple Beauty Rush mascara on my lower lashes but it didn't really show up anyway. Goes to show though, it pays to take pics of what you used ;)
Kinda gives me an 80s vibe, how about you? I love these colors and I love the way this look turned out.
Thanks for reading!<3
