Top ELF Products!

I get asked so many times what my ELF faves are so here there are PLUS Links!

Studio Makeup Mist & Set

"Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold"

It's like HAIR SPRAY for your FACE!!

I love this because its super cheap and it actually works!

"After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry."
60ml

Candlelight

Studio Cream Eyeshadow

"Line, shade and contour your eyes with this ultra pigmented and creaseless cream shadow"
Bronzed

I dunno about it being creaseless but man does this pack a punch when it comes to
layering it with shadows!

I own two light cream and medium brown and they pretty much work with every neutral look and I would recommend trying these two for starters, Bronze is my favourite!
(Like all cream shadows remember to replace the lid carefully to prevent them drying out)

Porcelain
Flawless Finish Foundation

"Achieve a flawless complexion with the silky smooth e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation."

The reason I love this foundation is because it suits my skin perfectly, It has a satin finish but doesn't work great on very dry flakey skin but on normal to slightly dry skin (like mine) that is pale yellow toned it's awesome!

 11 Piece Brush Collection

"The ultra luxe make-up brush case is ideal for any makeup artist at heart!"

My sister is a huge fan of these brushes - Case, Eyeshadow "C" Brush, Complexion Brush, Small Angled Brush, Small Smudge Brush, Fan Brush, Powder Brush, Angled Foundation Brush, Concealer Brush, Small Precision Brush, Blush Brush and Contouring Brush.

These brushes are baby soft and lovely to use!

High Definition Powder

"The high definition loose powder creates a "soft focus" effect to the skin."

Dupe for "MakeUpForEver HD High Definition Loose Powder" I tried both and found no difference at all!!

Looks great on camera and in real life but just like the MakeUpForEver powder does not work with flash photography.

Use a light hand and a large brush not the powder puff that comes with it.

MINI Eyelash Curlers

"Create gorgeous curled lashes that appear larger and more defined with this sleek design"

I LOVE THIS!!!!! I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS!!

Both the mini and the normal one works great and I feel like buying a million of them to last me a life time because I really adore them, I use them both every day!!

I would love to know what your favourites are too so leave a comment,
                                                                                               Sineady xx

Review: Moon Rabbit Cosmetics

Here is my review for a brand new company called Moon Rabbit Cosmetics!
Moon Rabbit just launched their website a few days ago and I had the privilege of receiving a set of my choice to review. There are 2 sets currently available, the Valentine's Day set and the Groundhog Day set; I chose the Groundhog Day set as I'm interested in nudes and neutrals right now.
Here are product and swatch photos, followed by links where you can find these cosmetics, and my own impressions. (All photos are clickable for detail and have not been edited at all except for cropping.)
Have a look:
As you can see, the sample-size clamshells are shrink-wrapped, cool!
The darkest color, Punxsutawney Phil; "milk chocolate brown matte with warm burgundy shimmers". Very pretty!
6 Weeks til Spring; "medium brown with shimmer". Looks lighter here than in person. Gorgeous color.
6 More Weeks of Winter; "frosty nude". A really beautiful lightly frosty peachy-nude with satiny sheen. Looks a little more orange in my photos but in person it's more frosty. So pretty<3
Blue Popcicle; my description: "Bright medium shimmer blue with tiny silver sparkles". I was excited to receive a blue as my free sample because I love blues and browns together!
Direct sun, from left: Punxsutawney Phil, 6 Weeks Til Spring, 6 More Weeks of Winter, Blue Popcicle.
Daylight. These are a bit more accurate color-wise.

Color descriptions (as offered on the website):

-Punxsutawney Phil - milk chocolate brown matte with warm burgundy shimmers
-6 Weeks til Spring - medium brown with shimmer
-6 More Weeks of Winter - frosty nude

I would say the descriptions are accurate and uncomplicated. There is no description for the blue color as it's not listed on the site yet, but here's my description:

-Blue Popsicle - Bright medium shimmer blue with tiny silver sparkles

All of the shadows applied well to my arm; they were swatched dry on bare skin with a little Pond's cream rubbed in, as is my usual custom. The colors are very pigmented and I didn't experience a lot of fallout or other similar annoyances. I even managed to open the clamshell containers without making a huge mess, except for Punxsutawney Phil which was the first one I opened; I discovered they open better when simply using my hands to absorb the shock, as opposed to bracing them on a table or surface while opening.
Something I noticed after swatching was that the colors stayed on my arm exactly how I applied them for a good amount of time, maybe an hour or more, while I ate breakfast and did a few other things. I was impressed that none of the shadow fell off, and even the sparkles stayed put! I can't speak of how they wear on the eyes though, since I haven't gotten to do a look with these yet.

I have to admit I struggled with the names; Punxsutawney Phil is hard to spell and I had to keep looking at the word while typing this review, lol. I also found the other two names really confusing because they're sort of similar.. I'm sure I'll never be able to remember which is which. >.< This however is a minor inconvenience and doesn't outweigh the cuteness of this set, which I believe is a limited item.

The website was new to me but I spent a few minutes on it; while I didn't actually go through a checkout process, I did browse around a bit and found it to be very clean and easy to navigate. Swatch photos are available for each set and seem to accurately portray the colors. Each individual eyeshadow is listed in the set, along with correct descriptions, a complete ingredients list and whether it is for use on eyes/lips/nails/face.

Pros:
-Beautiful colors
-Range of finishes
-Pigmented, easy to work with
-Unique for a brand new company
-Nice website

Cons:
-I noticed some of the colors seemed possibly like they weren't 100% perfectly blended; there were tiny chunks of pigment or base in some of them and those chunks streaked a little in the swatches. This didn't really bother me and it's certainly something that can be remedied by better blending. I don't pretend to know anything about blending eyeshadows, this is just my opinion as a consumer lol. :)
-I saw on another review that the price of shipping is $4.50 in the US which, if true, is a bit steeper than I'm used to paying. I don't know for sure though since I haven't placed an order myself.

-Would I buy from Moon Rabbit? Yes :)
I very much enjoyed my first experience with Moon Rabbit and I'm looking forward to trying these products and more in the future! I realize my review was a bit on the long site, but I had a lot to say about this company. Please make sure to check out their store or Facebook page using the links I posted earlier.

Some recent EOTDs

CLICK TO ENLARGE! This was for a contest based on art; I chose a drawing by my sister Becky as my inspiration, you can see it here! I took this pic with the new photo equipment; I like the checker pattern of my floor reflecting in my eye lol.
For this I used:
UDPP, NYX Milk Pencil, BFTE colors in- Cornflower, Serene, Prissy, Ornamental, Guipure, 7 Seas, Seafoam, Marina, Peacock, Illusion, Subcooling, Spellbound, Patriot, Butt Naked. I used a gold shadow pencil from mark. as a base all around my eye and put Ornamental over it. On my lower waterline I used an old blue pencil, with Patriot over top, and liner my upper lid with Loreal Carbon Black liquid liner and put BFTE shadows over it. My brow is filled in with a Wet N Wild Teal pencil and white pencil, with various teal shades from my 120 palette. Lashes are Ardel, not sure of the number. Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers glitter liner on the outer V, and little nail gems stuck on with Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue. Cover Girl Lash Perfection mascara in Very Black.

CLICK TO ENLARGE! A wintery look for a BFTE contest; I used BFTE's Winter Wonderland collection<3 This pic was taken old-school style, just pointing my camera at my eye lol. I still have yet to master the new equipment, sometimes it's just easier to take it this way. ;)
For this I used:
UDPP, NYX JEP in Milk, BFTE colors: Clear Crisp Night on lid, blended out with Winter Wonderland in crease and under the eye. Inner corner and browbone highlight was Glistening. (All 3 from the Winter Wonderland collection.) I think I used my Sephora white pencil inder my eye as a base. The gold under my tearduct area is 24K Gold over either Pixie Epoxy, and I also patted some 24K Gold on the middle of my lid to add more sparkle and dimension. Liner is Wet N Wild Mega Liner in Black. Jewels are nail decals, I think. Falsies from Ardell, can't remember the number. (It's been a while, lol.)

I love the Winter Wonderland collection, I'm so glad I got to get it! I'll be doing a swatch post soon so keep your eyes open for that!

I was reluctant to use red and purple but since it's for a Valentine's themed contest I did want it to fit the theme, and I think it does; it looks Valentiney and wearable, but still has some personality and flair. At least I hope it does, lol. I loved the gradation of the eyeshadow; the peachy pink blending into melon blending into red turned out well, I think. If I'd been doing a more traditional type of look I would have stopped there, but I added the pop of purple underneath for wow-factor. ;D

Bonus pics!
Unedited photo, complete with derpface!
Taken with my sister's little camera to show texture, though the colors aren't as accurate.
You can see the heart-shaped jewel best here :3
One of the few no-flash pics I took, and the only one I was able to salvage. I need to get my lighting situation sorted out >.<
This shot wasn't necessary but I couldn't leave it out xD
So there you have it! I enjoyed this look immensely; I think it turned out well and isn't something I would have done ordinarily. I hope you enjoyed it too!

Overdue haul: Christmas goodies!

I haven't posted a haul in a while so I felt the need to post a few recent acquisitions. :)
This was part of my Christmas haul; I actually ordered them for myself from Sephora, but my parents were good enough to foot the bill as their Christmas present to their lovely daughter.<3 I got both limited 24/7 travel-sized sets because I decided I need some really good liners. These things are easy to apply, long-wearing, and are creamy enough that I can sort of use them as bases for shadows, which I've been doing on my lower lashline a lot since I got them. I have yet to really try it on my lid, though.
I took some messy swatch pics:
Zero, Demolition, Bourbon, Underground, Stray Dog, Perversion, Ransom, Woodstock, Radium, Junkie.
Even though the pigmentation isn't as good as the other shades, I've probably used Ransom the most since I've been really into purple lately; I love putting it on my lower lashline with BFTE's Grape pigment over top. (In fact I have an upcoming look doing just that!)
Radium is a pretty pearly bright blue, and another shade I've used quite a bit. It looks awesome on the waterline but doesn't stick around, sadly. At least not on MY waterline. :(
Demolition looks messy because I somehow managed to screw up the tip with the cap lol, so I used the messed up bit for the swatch.. waste not, ya know. It's a perfect replacement for my deep matte brown eyeliner which I USED UP *gasp* a few months ago. Deep brown liner is usually my go-to for daily looks.
Next up we have the Sugarpill Afterparty eyeshadow, which I won in a blog giveaway from Mai! Mai is awesome, in case you didn't already know. You should definitely go check out her blog!
This was one of those "Earn extra entries by Tweeting every day" deals, and I think I Tweeted every day but one after I entered. I really wanted this eyeshadow!!!
She even sent a Christmas card, how sweet :)
You don't know how long I've waited for this moment...
I think this was one swipe of my brush.. this stuff is super-pigmented and smooth as butter.
It has a slight satin sheen, as you can see in this flash picture.
I barely had to rub to get this much pigment!
The color is actually a deep bold blue in person but tends to look lighter in photos, I think. I've already done a look using Afterparty, which you can see here. Thanks again Mai for this glorious prize!

I also got a bunch of BFTE as part of my Christmas present to myself and I plan on doing a post about that soon as well, so stay tuned for that and more!
As always, thanks for reading!<3
